I would allow multiple banes on a weapon, but not allow you to get the bennefit of multiple against the same target. Ranger Favored Enemy works the same way. So an Orc-Human bane I would only let get +2 and 2d6 against a half-orc, not +4 and 4d6.

I think this is the best idea.

Ahhh, you guys don't think it's cool to fight an Half-elf with Half dragon template Lich with a bane(s) weapon that goes +8 +8D6 ? No fun :)

But I would give it to the player if they lucked out and had a dragon bane evil outsider bane weapon and they faced an evil extraplanar dragon. It just doesn't come up enough.

I do! I totally do! See?

If the players knew of an enemy like that and wanted to specifically design a weapon against him (or find an artifact designed to fight him), I would. But it would only work on people with all 4, everyone else would get no bane. :)

Yeah, it does seem to get a little ridiculous when you start pointing out how it could be used.

But doesn't the undead template of any type get ride of all other types?

P.S. Oh and you are no longer considered human or an elf once you add the half-dragon template.

You still keep sub-types right?

Not in the case of a half-dragon. Your type becomes dragon and that's pretty much that.
