Not sure. So terribly tempted now to try it and find out. Only I don't have a mini muffin pan. And full size ones, well, I'm pretty sure that result really would be dreadful.

Eh, maybe add it to pie or cake then? Jello seems to be sorely lacking from pies.

Oh that would definitely work. Jello pie with whip cream :) Or maybe put meringue on top. Jello meringue sounds lovely. :)

As long as it was a graham cracker crust, I don't think I could do a standard crust. :P

Have you never been treated to a Jello cake?

1. Make a 8x12 white or yellow cake.
2. Poke holes in it with a fork or wooden spoon handle.
3. Pour slightly thickened jello (your choice) into the holes.
4. Slather a box of pudding (usually vanilla or pistachio) over the top.
5. When all is set up firmly, cover the whole shootin' match with Cool Whip.

Sublime.

And you've never made one of these for me why!? >:(

I can make one tonight, or perhaps for our next session. They are fast, easy, moist, and delicious!

Good! I bet Alex and David will like that too. Sunday then.

The typical Jello pie involves a graham cracker crumb crust, a layer of cheesecake filling, and either strawberries or cherries mixed with the appropriate jello. Cool WHip optional.

what about a jelly pooding cube?

Scarab Sages

Mmmmmm....red hots.

Just add a package of Jell-O to the cake mix after you've poured it into the pan. There's also a "Poke Cake" where you make the Jell-O and pour it over a cake that you've poked holes in a finished cake and then refridgerate.

Down with Cool Whip!

And this coming from somebody who lives in the only place on earth where the stuff is made.

It's nasty, and it doesn't dissolve in water, which is just freaky. Give me real whipped cream anyday.

I wasn't necessarily praising the cool whip, just the jello pie concept, especially with the cheesecake. Definitely would prefer real whipped cream.

When I used to have that ninja turtle jello mold... molded shapes. But without it, cut cubes are okay, but not the same.

It's the only jello that tastes you while you taste it.

I didn't mean to single you out. There was a lot of Cool Whip on this thread, and you just happened to be the most recent post that referenced it (and even then it was the message you were replying to). I just took that particular opportunity to rail against that vile waxy concoction.

I like cool whip. What I cannot stand is Reddi-Whip... <shudders>

Mmmmmm.....waxy concoctions.

Seriously. If you're cooking with red hots and lemon Jello, ya gotta use Cool Whip. No point in going all "organic" and "healthy." The more preservatives something contains, the better it preserves YOU, after all.

Its true! I was told in a vision by the gods of jello... or maybe they were just Elder Gods come for me sanity.

For the curious, this was chocolate cake with cherry jello and vanilla pudding.

And Cool Whip. .

Scarab Sages

Mmmmmm....vanilla
