Sooooo whats everyone doing tonight?
Finishing up and packing away the Yard sale.
Moving what is needed for supper tonight to the new house.
Letting my oldest do his science project. He has to write a paper on a creature and then have a model of it.
Modeling clay - check
Styrofoam - Check
Big damn dragon almost done - Priceless.
and at some point I have a yard full of trash and a house getting trashier by the minute, that must be cleaned by Wednesday since we have to be out by Friday and I work Thursday.
Yourselves?

I sort of butted my way in here, like I do. ;) I hope no one minds.
I just got done cleaning up from another exciting chapter in my Ptolus campaign. No combat, little dice rolling, just pure roleplaying. It was awesome.
Time for sleep.
Butt in all you want. But tread on me, and I'll go nutso.

For the Professor
“Occasionally leaving a child behind will help them to learn what it is that they aren’t learning. Pushing them through to the next grade level already behind is not Not Leaving Them Behind”
“While I firmly believe every teacher can improve his or her individual performance, the blind assertion that classroom teachers can single-handedly turn around student performance in the face of poverty, parental indifference, family dysfunction, and society's apathy is ludicrous.”
These are a few quotes from professionals on the No Child Left Behind act. The act implemented in 2004 to improve upon the standards of teachings seems to be having the opposite effect. While most teachers are happy with the act improving on the quality of teachers they feel that it impedes upon their ability to teach. The law places the success or failure of the student solely on the teachers, based on the results of standardized test scores. If the schools test scores are low than the school is punished with less funding. As a result the teachers focus now studying and preparing their students for the test with less time to make the lessons creative or fun. There is little funding for after school programs and most teachers are now spending personal after or before school time working with those students who fall behind because they have little or no time to stop the lesson during class for fear that the students who are grasping the subject will fall behind. Most school districts are now in a hiring freeze which stops them from hiring aides to help with over sized classrooms, or new talent and recent graduates. The effect in the classroom is over – worked, under – appreciated teachers who are helpless to change things.

It involved hoors and four legged animals and lots of alcohol. That's my guess.

The smell and the look were so bad, I had a hard time eating my biscuts and gravy, bacon, corned beef hash omelette, and pancakes. :/

Sure. Maybe another tweak: “fuming over a law that singles out education as the only recipient of government funds that must depend on a legislated standard of perfection that is proving itself highly problematic.”
