My group has a character that wanted to buy a slave from a master mistreating her to free them. He asked how much it cost to buy a slave ( elven female/ bard ...he wishes to free her and offer her a job as an adventurer (cohort )
I have no idea what to tell him it would cost. I was thinking 100gp per class level and 50 gp for 0th...with mark ups based on attractiveness/strength and race?
I feel dirty asking this question, but adult games have adult themes I guess

As you may have guessed there really is no fixed price list or even a framework. Basing the price on Hit Dice or Challenge Rating seems like a good basis.
The basic prices in the Core Rulebook for horseflesh gives you an idea of the economic range you are looking at: 30gp for a pony at the low end, up to 300gp for a trained heavy warhorse.
So, let's make some educated guesses. Perhaps 25gp as an average price for a commoner 1? You could roll 1d4/level commoner x 10gp to randomize a sale price. Increase this to 35gp/level for an expert (1d6x10gp) or aristocrat, 45gp/level (1d8x10gp) for a warrior or adept.
What kind of salves? Embalmig salves? Healing salves? Mentholyptus?

In the book, "The Jackle's Price" under the section, "The Katapesh Marketplace" you can find some pricing on slaves. I can't find the section right now, but I'm sure I read that slaves were sold for 50gp per HD (that would be for commoners IMO). In the Nightstalls section of the same book, under "Extraordinary Slaves" you can find slaves for 200gp per HD.
From the 50gp per HD commoner I would adjust the cost up for trained slaves, such as, warriors (75gp), experts (75gp), adepts (100gp) and other common untrained low CR humanoids. I think aristocrats, unusual humanoids, beautiful humanoids and others would belong in the Extraordinary Slaves dealership. Finally, I would adjust the cost for age and beauty.
So for a PC to free a beautiful 21 year old level 4 aristocrat, I would charge around 1000gp (+/- 100gp for Diplomacy & Roll Play). Eight hundred gp for the HD and 100gp each for her age and beauty. Of course if her father didn't make bad deals he would not have had to sold his youngest daughter into slavery in the first place.
