"We're heading back already?" Dokal is visibly saddened by the news. "I didn't even get the chance to pilot a cloud car..."

"I'm sure there is time for that while I arrange transport back to Courascant," Master Kiturn says with a smile.

Male Ithorian Noble 1/Jedi 2

I would like to interact with the Masters of the Academy if you are looking for more interaction. Otherwise, I am ready to travel back to Coruscant.

I'm ready to head back to Coruscant as well.

Gungan Scout 2/Scoundral 1

Yeah, back to Coruscant.

Coruscant we go! Although can we handwave the travel if nothing is meant to happen?

I'm fine with moving on to the journey to Coruscant.

Coruscant
4 days later

The trip back to Coruscant is uneventful and you now find yourself in front of a panel composed of members of the senate and the Jedi Council. Master Skywalker takes the lead. "Welcome home, although your trip was clearly brief. What do you have to report?"

"Master Skywalker, I regret to inform the Council that we interupted an attack by dark Jedi and stormtroopers upon arrival. The jedi apparently stole a number of holocrons, possibly dealing with cloning."

Corine stands at attention before the Jedi council, trying her best to hide her nervousness and awe in their presence.

Male Ithorian Noble 1/Jedi 2

::Moma bows to Master Skywalker::

"Master Skywalker. Esteemed Jedi council representatives."begins Moma as he swivels his head back and forth, acknowledging each member."What Mhoy speaks is true. We have indeed uncovered a diabolical plot by the Imperial remnant that could shake the very core of the Republic. I have evidence that they have begun a cloning process that includes replicating dark Jedi. In addition, there have been brazen attacks in the sector near Bespin, as well as the most recent attack directly against the Jedi at the academy in Tibannopolis, by these forces." Moma pulls out his holopad and punctuates his statements with supporting images of the dark Jedi, the clones and the scientific data related to it, as well as the aftermath of the attack, including which holocrons were taken.

"From what we have determined, the cloning process is real. However, the attackers that were not dark Jedi at Tibannopolis were poisoned. I am not 100% certain if this is a result of the cloning process, caused by proximity to the dark Jedi clones, or murder on the part of the dark Jedi and their masters." he concludes.

Can I determine what the poison was with a Life Science check?

"We await your instructions on how to proceed. What would you have us do?"

Dokal attempts to listen to Moma's presentation to the gathering, but his attention is soon distracted as he catches sight of a particularly beautiful nautolan aid standing attentively behind one of the senators. Any thoughts of catching her eye are quick to dissipate, as Zip also notices the aid's presence and make a point to move between her and its master.

OOC:
I think Zip will be jealous of any females Dokal might find attractive, in particular members of humanoid races with head-tresses, tentacles, or hair that resembles such features.

Gungan Scout 2/Scoundral 1

Tobler simply stands there, trying his best not to fidget in front of the assembled politicians.

"This is most troubling," Luke says. "We must consult among ourselves before we decide on a course of action. Please enjoy some downtime in the temple while we confer."

You may indeed try a Life Science check to identify the poison.

Life Science check for poison. 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22 I get a +2 bonus on top of that if I use my Med Kit - not sure if that is applicable.

Dr. Falomar determines that the poison is an artifically synthisized version of Corellian Sand Panther Toxin.

What is everyone else doing?

DM Dave wrote:

Do we know or does Doctor Falomar know what that poison does?

Typically Sand Panther venom causes violent illness and suffocation.

Can I determine if the poison is a byproduct of the cloning process or was it administered seperately?

Also, was this poison just in the non-Jedi?

Lastly, were the stormtroopers cloned or just the Jedi?

The poison seems to have been administered from som kind of poison delivery system and was only present in the stormtrooper's systems.. Also, neither the stormtroopers or the dark jedi seem to have been clones, although a quick scan of the temple's medical database confirms your assessment that the most likely uses for the stolen materials is cloning.

"Doctor, the stormtroopers were poisoned, right? Did they do that to prevent them from talking?", asks Corine.

"So these stormtroopers were given suicide injections to keep them from speaking? And the dark jedi were stealing cloning technology. We have quite an organized, threatening conspiracy here. And what about this Prophecy of Vader they referenced? Can anyone look that up in the Archives?"

"The poison could have been administered as a method of control with a promised antidote forthcoming upon victory or, like you indicated Mhoy, it could have been to prevent them from revealing what is going on in with the Imperials." quips Moma.

"Ah, yes, the Prophecy of Vader. I was so caught up with my medical research that I forgot about the warning from the dark Jedi. What could this mean?" questions Moma.

Knowledge (Galactic Lore) checks to research the Prophecy of Vader.

Galactic Lore 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Galactic Lore 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

I'll give it a shot, but Corine is usually blissfully ignorant of things like that :)

Yup...just as I thought

Corine stands there, staring off into space, nothing coming to mind.

Dokal pauses in the task of wrestling his overbearing droid out of his way once he realizes the Doc has asked a question. Having missed exactly what the ithorian had asked, however, he waits quietly for a response.

OOC:
Dokal was too busy attempting to impress the senator's aid to be paying attention to what some jedi was going on about.

:P

"Dokal?" queries Moma to the apparently distracted Nautolan. "Do you or your droid have any memory of the Prophecy of Vader reference?"

The nautolan stares blankly at the Doc, and would probably be blinking his eyes in confusion. If his race possessed eyelids.

I've never heard anything of the sort; sounds like mumbo jumbo to me. And don't count on Zip for anything, either. He's just a little droid with a habit of sticking his electronic nose in my business...

The droid chirps in protest and positions itself in front of Dokal in order to tell its master off. After delivering a string of expletives in Binary, Zip turns to face Moma and activates its holoprojector, the contents of any data in its memory banks relating the the Prophecy of Vader displayed for the ithorian to see.

OOC:
Knowledge (galactic lore)
  • 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26

Take it away, Dave. What does my little droid know?

  • Most of you have never heard anything about a "Prophecy of Vader" and Zip informs you that there is no record of such a thing. His suggestion is to speak to Master Skywalker or one of the other Masters about it.

Suddenly realizing its holodisplay is blank, the little droid lets out a forlorn warble before leaving the room in a fit.

    OOC:
Dang, if he come up with nothing on a 27, the councilors might not even have any idea what it is. That's the level of only a handful of folks in the galaxy know of it kind of stuff.

"Very well, since technology will not assist us, let us ask the Masters." Mhoy turns and walks back into the Masters' Council Chambers, knocking politely on the door and waiting to be acknowledged.

"I beg indulgence, Masters, but there is one bit of informaiton that I neglected to mention. Before passing into the Force, one of the assailants mentioned the 'Prophecy of Vader.' Does that mean anything?"

A dark look crosses Master Skywalker's face. "The Prophecy of Vader? To my knowledge that could only mean one thing. When I faced off with Darth Vader shortly after I was trained by Master Yoda, he said that I would join him and together we would defeat the Emperor and rule the universe as father and son. But my father is dead, so I wonder what they could have meant?"

Moma lets out a forlorn warble from his twin throats. He bows his head dejectedly and offers his opinion."If that is truly the prophecy, what if a dark jedi seeks to fulfill it by cloning Darth Vader and Master Luke Skywalker? The stipulation about defeating the Emperor has already been met."

Corine looks disturbed by what the good Doctor has to say, having only heard the tales of the early years of the rebelion and Vadar's exploits, but keeps silent and listens for now.

"They would have to have my DNA in order to clone," Master Skywalker says. "I don't know how they would have gotten that, unless..." His voice trails off as he looks to his mechanical hand.

    OOC:
Please tell me we're not running an adaptation of part of The Last Command.

"Master, can we take the chance that they do not have your hand? Surely we must proceed as if they do. We know that there Imperial vessels sighted near Cloud City; perhaps one of them is the base for these dark jedi or can be tracked to their base. Let us follow them, Master and we will discover the truth!"

Corine salutes both Luke and Leia with her best "parade salute" before smartly turning on her heel and leaving.

Mhoy bows to Luke and Leia, and then promptly leaves the room. Once out of the Council chambers, he turns to his comrades. "Let us gather supplies and leave in three standard hours. I will arrange for our transportation."

Mhoy heads to the hangar to arrange for a transport. Is there anything available?

There are several avalible options. The three most likely options are a YZ-775, a YT-2400, and a Loronar E-9 Explorer.
