Two swift actions to aim at the dark jedi(hopefully taking away his bonus from being behind the jedi), and Precise Shot takes away the melee penalty. Attack(+1 if within 30 feet): 1d20+5;3d8

I am up but need a few rulings/updates:

1. Dave - Can you update me on the condition of the dark Jedi I am fighting? I believe the one I injured is on Mhoy. Did Tobler shoot at mine or Mhoy's?

2. Does drawing a weapon provoke an AoO?

I found where I can draw and activate as a move action but I can't find if this warrants an AoO.

3. Does using Move Object (in my case maintaining concentration) provoke an AoO if in melee?

Found the answer in the on-line Errata document at WOTC: p. 156 – Provoking an Attack of Opportunity. Add the following sentence to the end of the Moving Out of a Threatened Square description: “Involuntary movement, such as being the target of a Bantha Rush or the move object Force power, never provokes an attack of opportunity.”

4. Does SW Saga have 5' moves that don't provoke AoO like in D&D?
Found this answer: A character can withdraw. Withdrawing is a move action that lets you move up to half your movement speed. Your first square of movement no longer provokes an attack of opportunity. However, you can withdraw only if you are moving into a square that is not threatened; otherwise, you must take a normal move action.

The on Tolar shot is the one on you. Als drawing a weapon does provoke an AoO because it falls into the same catagory as loading a weapon or retreaving a stored item.

Moma takes the minor nick in stride from the dark Jedi. He withdraws from the close proximity of the deadly red blade and concentrates his effort on moving the crate at his new target - the being trying to kill him!

Move action = withdraw 3 squares from dark Jedi; Swift action = Restore Force Shield via Telekinetic Savant talent; Standard action = Use the Force to strike the dark Jedi.

Use the Force to Move Object: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26

A result of 26 results in the ability to move a Huge object and deals 6d6 damage, provided the 26 result beats the dark Jedi's Reflex score.

6d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2, 5, 6, 6) = 30

Doc manages to slam the crate into the dark jedi, who falls to the ground with his head at an odd angle.

"Well, I suppose that means we're past the diplomacy phase of the encounter, hm? Pity, I thought we might have a breakthrough here." Mhoy sighs and raises his lightsaber in a defensive posture.

I'm afraid that some health issues that looked like they were minor last week spiked up badly enough that it has required some hospital time towards the end of last week. Right now, I'm not totally sure where things stand in that regard, whether I am going to be back on my feet in a relatively short time or if I'm mostly going to be out of comission for a while.

Unfortunately, either way it means I will probably be off the boards for a few weeks at least or maybe longer. There is nothing life threatening for folks to be worried about, but I'm all drugged up while I'm dealing with this and it makes it really hard to put together coherant thoughts(this post has already taken forever to try and make myself focus to get through it).

I've really enjoyed all my PbPs and hopefully you all understand my disapearance and accept my apology.

First, I hope you get well soon, I'm sorry to hear about your health issues, and you being gone for some time is totally understandable. It'll be a good day when you're able to post and play again. Second, no apology is necessary :) Get well soon, Tarlane.

Sorry to see you go, hope everything works out for you.

Corine is up
Dokal
Dark Jedi.

Taking careful aim, Corine lines up the dark jedi in her sights, letting out a slow breath as she pulls the trigger...

Heavy Blaster Rifle: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 Damage: 3d10 + 4 ⇒ (2, 2, 9) + 4 = 17

Corine mentally shakes her head in disapproval at her horrible marksmanship, but continues to keep the dark jedi in her sights...

Corine's shot is followed shortly by a second plasma burst from Dokal's pistol.

OOC:
Blaster Pistol
  • Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
  • Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6) = 16

  • Dokal's shot drops the last Dark Jedi. As he lays dying he struggles to rise to a sitting position. "The prophecy of Vader will be fulfilled," he says as he collapses back to the round. In the distance you can see the Imperial shuttles taking off and heading back into space.

Mhoy waits for a moment before switching off his lightsaber. "Prophecy, indeed? Anyone else hurt?"

Holding her heavy blaster rifle in a high ready position, Corine drops out of the speeder, moving quickly and efficiently towards the nearest cover. While her comrades regroup, she scans the area around them with her scope, looking for any other hidden targets.
"Doing fine, Mhoy, I'm on watch. Do what you need to do, Doctor," says Corine with her usual crispness.

I'm going to be keeping watch while the others regroup, let me know if I need to make any checks, Dave.

    Male Ithorian Noble 1/Jedi 2

Moma scans his party members to see who is hurt and who needs his attention the most. Seeking nobody in immediate distress, he moves about the injured, dying and dead among the Imperial forces he and his comrades were fighting to see if he can make a difference.

The one thing that Doc notices is that except the two Dark Jedi, all of the Imperial forces have a foamy blue liquid leaking from their mouthes and their eyes are red from ruptured blood vessels.

Hey! I'm down like 15 points here!

DOH! I thought you used Negate Energy on that hit. I see it didn't work now.

As Moma makes his observations and goes back to share his findings, he notices a stoic Mhoy with an obvious blast wound. Muttering his apologies for missing it, he breaks out a medpac from his utility belt and begins treating his fellow Jedi while sharing what he has seen.

    Treat Injury roll (First Aid) on Mhoy, healing all 15 points:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29

"Blood samples", says Corine to Doctor Falomar as she continues to scan the combat zone.

"Thank you Corine. Let's gather up whatever else we can to piece together this interesting puzzle and seek out a lab where I can conduct some further analysis." offers Moma.

"Thank you, Doctor! These poor fools were ill-acquainted with the rules of hospitality!" Mhoy stretches his arm, feeling much better without a terrible gash in it. "I do wonder what Vader and a prophecy have to do with our humble facility here?"

    Gungan Scout 2/Scoundral 1

"For now, that doesn't matter.", says Tobler as he gives a quick pat-down to the fallen.

Perception, and making sure to at least take the power packs out of their rifles: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Dokal joins the others as everyone regroups after the skirmish. Glancing at Cordal, the nautolan grins. "I'm not too sure about that; they certainly made our arrival more exciting."

Turning to Kiturn, he quickly changes subject. "Is there a computer terminal near here? I'll see if I can find any information on other groups that may still be in the city."

    Male Ithorian Noble 1/Jedi 2

A worried thought just popped into the good doctor's head. "Everyone step back, away from the fallen."

Examining the contents of the vial more closely, Moma racks his brain trying to make an educated guess if this stuff is contagious.

Life Science check, using Medical Kit if necessary
    1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

"If this is a disease or virus, it would explain the attacks on the medical supplies." offers Moma.

The stuff in the vial does not appear to be viral or bacteria. In fact it looks more like the stormtroopers were poisoned.

"You will need my access code," Master Kiturn says. He leads Dokal to a nearby terminal and types in a code. According to the security reports all the attacking groups have retreated. However, a system wide alert also indicates that several items were stolen from a vault near the center of the city.

Dokal continues to work with the system, attempting to compile or access a manifest of the items stolen or, barring that, what was stored in the vault.

    OOC:
If necessary, Dokal will attempt to persuade the system to cooperate.

    Use Computer

  • Improve Access: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23
  • Access Information: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26

  • Dokal's digging indicates that the materials stolen were Jedi holocrons.

I believe a Holocron is a repository of accumulated knowledge and information - in this case regarding use of the Force and Jedi customs, practices, techniques, etc. I think of them as a 3-D, interactive library that can be fit on a device the size of a modern-day cell phone.

Moma hangs his head sadly. He then steels his resolve and speaks to Master Kiturn."Master - how can we right this wrong? The Jedi need those holocrons to keep us on the path. With the appearance en masse of a large number of dark Jedi, logic would conclude that there is an evil master pulling the strings. Shall we follow them?"

"Hey, yousa not going to get them back by just sitting here."

So, searching the bodies didn't turn up anything interesting?

"I won't without the archives," he says. "However, this doesn't seem to fit with the other pirate raids, unless....Dokal Renn can you pull upa list of the other things that were stolen?"

Can I get Knowledge checks everyone, Either galactic lore, life science, or technology?

Doctor Falomar recalls a class that he took and Corine flashes back to a magazine article she briefly glanced over. Both of you realize that the supplies that were stolen could be used in cloning operations.

"They're bleeding out maybe", says Corine upon remembering the article, "running low on supplies...or trying to build more..."

    Male Ithorian Noble 1/Jedi 2

A shocked look comes over Moma's face as the reality of the situation dawns on him. "This is no virus or disease, the Imperial remnant appears to be on the path to resuming the cloning process. If they are successful, it could ignite a second Clone War." wheezes the doctor as the grand scope of his statement overwhelms him.

As he composes himself, he grips to his logic."What does appear relevant is the fact that they have not perfected the process and they lack the necessary supplies to sustain it. We cannot allow them to succeed!" states Moma emphatically.

"But if they are clones, why then the Holocron? Unless they are cloning Jedi? The Council must hear of this immediately!"

"I think Jedi Mhoy is correct doctor," Master Kiturn says. "The council and the senate must be notified of this turn of events. Will you travel back to Couracant and inform them of this matter? I will stay here and try to find out more about this "Prophecty of Vader" the attackers mentioned."

Moma considers the matter and inclines his head in acceptance."As you wish, Master. I will bring samples of the clones and the poison. If we have information on the information from the captured holocrons, I will provide that to the council as well. Is there anything you wish to convey to them Master Kiturn?"

"Back to Coruscant then...", says Corine with a grin. "Stormtroopers I can handle...cloned dark jedi...not a fan."
