SPECIAL ABILITIES
Malleable Skin (Ex and Su) A krenshar-pei can adjust its skin to provide a number of abilities. Its skin allows it to slip out of holds more easily (as reflected above), and it can also use its skin to affect the emotions of other creatures, either by drawing its skin away from its skull or by increasing the folds around its face. The first use allows a krenshar-pei to cast cause fear on an opponent, and the second use is equivalent to casting charm. Each ability has a save DC of 14, including a +2 racial modifier, and is Charisma-based. A creature that saves is unaffected by other uses of either ability for 24 hours.

This unusual beast, bred in the Minkai Empire, looks like a large dog with leopard spots and wrinkled skin. Even though krenshar-peis hail from Tian Xia, many make their way to the Inner Sea region as rich, bored nobles import these beasts for use as guard animals and pets. A trained krenshar-pei uses its malleable skin to frighten intruders away. Wild krenshar-peis hunt in packs; one creature stays out in the open in order to charm a wanderer and draw him close, while the others wait until he has taken the bait to spring their attack.

I can't believe how long it took me to get the pun...

If the krenshar-pei is supposed to be dog-like, why not stick with a single bite attack and the Trip special attack, instead of adding claws?

Also, I just discovered that the krenshar isn't in the PRD. Weird.

I struggled with that choice and ultimately decided to keep the claws from the krenshar for the krenshar-pei. I could bump up the attack die for the bite and remove the claws, though.
