Alright so I've got a story line that Im going to run within the next couple of months. It revolves around a city doctor (who I will refer to as William) who is in the process of creating a flesh golem and stealing body parts from the cemetary as well as living citizen's. The adventure is made to be more of a investigative style of play and while I've laid out lots of clues I wanted to put in a more fool proof solution in case they dont put 2 and 2 together. The idea here is to involve the players with a different doctor as a consultant at the start of the adventure and if they dont piece the clues together have this doctor become one of William's victims. So the players will know the doctor very well and qualify for the idea of a well known person that the locate creature spell requires.
So my questions about Locate object and creature is thus. In the case of Locate creature, is a severed limb something that can be tracked with the spell? Will the spell focus on the person, the limb, or both? In the case of Locate Object, can a severed limb count as the object since its well known and easily visualized?
