Question concerning Shields

Rules Questions

Hi again,

I have a question concerning shields and the ability to do shield bashes in fights.

If I look at heavy darkwood/mithral shields, they "just" weight 5lbs, as light shields do. So are they treated as light weapons in the off hand while using TWF ?

The rules do not say something specific about it Iand I hope somebody can help me out :)

Thanks in advance,
Nadir

Eh, I would rule, in my games, no because while it is as light as a 'light' shield, its still bulky. You can't just make a longsword out of mithril and it suddenly become a 'light' weapon either. Just my two copper.

No it just weighs less, has fewer penalties and would be considered masterwork. No other mechanical adjustments would be made to the item. Darkwood could be used to make weapons but there would be no other adjustment besides being masterwork and half weight as per the description in the book. The rules even mention a weapon being made of darkwood so the rules are pretty clear on the matter.
