It's a matter of personal preference I would suppose. Reaper does square bases traditionally, but you can get a variety of other base sizes from other manufacturers.
I know I've got a huge surplus of GW bases, plus some left over from Privateer's game.
Are they putting them on square plastics or are they using their metal bases?

Alright, is it possible to have Reaper supply round bases for the miniatures instead of square ones? It seems silly but I much prefer round over square for my RPG miniatures. A square base really messes with the asthetics of the miniature. Anyone else feel the same way?
I doubt they'll change midway through production, but you can always buy some round bases elsewhere and glue your Reaper figs into them.
I love mini modeling, and while sometimes I will decide a round or square base looks better for a particular model, overall I don't really mind the shape.
But fortunately if you prefer one over the other, plastic bases are pretty cheap.

I know I could buy round bases. I just don't like having to do it. Now I've got sqaure bases I'm never going to use. I know most people will use what is provided and get on with their lives and its not likely they'll change. I guess I'll just have to suffer. :-) I already have to do it for their other miniatures.
Also, they are supplying their plastic bases that they produce for thier Warlords line.

I know what you mean, Delthos. I've come to really enjoy round bases, especially the one like Privateer put out for their pieces. I like those for the double reason of round bases and the little lip around the edge which makes basing my figure a little easier to do. If you look on Privateer's store, they may still sell bases, not sure. There are plenty of alternatives out there if you want to take the extra time and effort to modify a piece to go on a round base.

You can buy the Privateer bases here at Paizo!

Reaper has updated us a bit, and they've also posted some info about upcoming figures on their own boards. Here's what you might want to know:
It turns out they're not actually doing monthly waves of four minis—they're actually doing biweekly waves of two minis. They're also a bit behind (on all of their lines) from the holidays, but they're catching back up quickly. The new Seoni just arrived, along with their reissue of the Crocodile Xanesha. The new Lem and their reissue of Nualia & Erylium should be along in a week or two, followed in the coming weeks by the new Kyra and Sajan, and the reissued Merisiel and Goblin Commando on Goblin Dog. (I'm not completely sure which of those are the first pair and which are the second, but one pair should be arriving at the turn of the month, and the other in mid-February.)
Also, they've let folks know that the troll due in March is coming from the cover of the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary; the Dragon from the cover of the Core Rulebok will be out in April; and they're also working on the Carrion King, a couple other NPCs from the Council of Thieves Adventure Path, and some pugwampis. And, of course, continuing to rerelease the remaining Crocodile minis.
And in August, they plan to release six minis to coincide with the Pathfinder RPG Advanced Player's Guide release. (Hmm—I wonder what those could be?)

I'd love to see a kobold king miniature, but in general I suspect Reaper will be focusing on "specific" Pathfinder minis, especially in the case of a creature like a kobold, where you can easily sub in minis from a half-dozen companies.
As for pre-painted, Reaper is still doing them on their own in their Asylum line. At present there are no plans for prepainted Pathfinder miniatures.

I'd suggest keeping the square bases and using them as some kind of markers. For example, you could paint or write on them "stunned" "shaken" "nauseated" etc. and then put them onto, under, or next to your minis to indicate special conditions. Likewise you could similarly use them as terrain or spell markers. If you want to get fancy, fill in the slot with some blutak or whathaveyou, cover with sand/ballast/etc. Make slimy looking ones for swamp terrain, glue rocks onto them for Rubble, glue flock and lichen onto them for Undergrowth, etc. Then you have a nice way to mark up your battle grid.
I also paint empty bases of all sizes and shapes and use them as generic baddies when I don't have a figure for them.
Also, if aesthetics is your game, I second/third the recommendation to use the Privateer Press round bases.

That's such an awesome idea! I wish I'd thought of it, thanks for the suggestion.
