I think most people who learnt to read English as a first language can read that one. My guess is that it would throw off people who have learnt to read using a 'full visual' strategy (readers of Chinese) or a 'full alphabetic' strategy (readers of Spanish?) until they've developed a 'partial alphabetic' strategy. Any Spanish or Chinese Paizonians want to give it a shot?
Anyhow, probably not much to do with degree of intelligence.
