My group fled out of the battle market after defeating the series of encounters on the battle arena, killing Ugruk, and killing the Harpy. Kardswann slaughtered a PC and Haleen (Luckily no one had Finding Haleen Trait). So, they beat feet out of the Battle Market.
Taken all suggestions on how I should direct the party so they can face Kardswann again.

The group I sent to Kardswann was on the verge of a party wipe (both fighters unconscious) until I not-so-subtly reminded the moldspeaker of this urge. Then, to avoid the impending wipe, I decided to have Kardswann go to his knees, close is eyes and tilt his head back, thus making him helpless and allowing a couple of people the opportunity to inflict lethal wounds. It still took two coup-de-grace attempts to do the job because K made his first fort save vs. death. *grin*
If you need more, I'll do my best to help.

You could let the dead PC create a new character (One of the mercenaries hired by Almah), seem trustworthy, and join the group. Maybe Almah gives them a couple of single use items to help - scroll, bead of force, potions, etc. Then after they spend a night licking their wounds, Kardswann comes knocking with the remainder of his forces at the Monastery.

Of course, if the group has killed off the Kulldis tribe and the other occupants of the battle market, Kardswann will have some serious recruiting to do to bring a group up to the monastery. Perhaps he'd show up alone?
I meant to ask, what level was the group when they fought K? Another option may be to have them run a side adventure (like the ruined temple of Nethys) and pick up the 4th party member around the location they go to, gain their composure, confidence, and maybe another level then send them back to try K again.

Assuming you are running the adventure as written, Almah is the primary motivator for clearing Kelmarane of enemies. If the first battle with Kardswann was a fiasco, she could produce some "emergency" potions and scrolls to give the party, that could tip the balance in their favor.

And remember, Father Zastoran can also supply potions...for a fee of course!
