I'm getting ready to start a homebrew and created the following 2 new traits. I'm just looking for any feedback, they are basically copies (Beast-Caller is a clone of the Qadira Genie-Caller) of what appears to be pretty pervasive in the Companion books as far as additional traits go.
Race Trait
Paws of the Panther (Human – Mwangi (Zenj)): You have been raised in the shadow of big cats. Years of stalking and hunting in the Mwangi Jungles have given you a +1 trait bonus on Stealth checks, and it is always a class skill for you.
Regional Trait
Beast-Caller (Mwangi): Your exploration of the magic for calling animals has increased your overall aptitude for summoning
creatures. Once per day, you may cast one conjuration (summoning) spell as if your caster level were 2 higher than normal.
Thanks!

I think Beast Caller is O.P.
Traits are supposed to be HALF the power of a single low power or moderate feat.
That trait allows you to cast a summon nature's ally spell no matter the class.
Then again, it does seem like you intended it to be used only for casters. Therefore, I'd put into it a prerequisite that you must be a spellcaster.
I think that'd fix it.

Erm, Eyolf, read it again bro.
It's not granting you the ability to cast it (though I suppose the phrasing could be cleaned up) it's augmenting one time that you cast it from your slots. (And honestly feels rather underpowered in my mind, if I were designing it I would have made it function 3 times per day, but it's a clone of a trait Paizo published, so hopefully they knew what they were doing lol)

Right :)
As mentioned this is a clone of Genie-Caller which is already a legal (even for Society play) trait, so I don't see it being over powered. You could certainly take this trait if you were a non-caster, but it just wouldn't be that useful :)

If you notice, I addressed BOTH possibilities with my post.
So it's really sort of annoying that you called me out on something that I DID cover.
Aside from that.
The reason I said it could be O.P. was that if you give it to a non caster, it's like giving them a free spell to cast once a day at 2 caster levels higher than their character level.
I count personally, spells being given to non casters or casters, as a single feat.
Hence this doesn't grant you a bonus spell, and it merely allows you to cast a summon spell once a day at +2 CL. It's NOT O.P.
However, as I said, if it were to be allowed to grant a noncaster a spell, or perhaps even a caster an extra spell at Character Level +2
THEN I believe it would be O.P. for a TRAIT, but not for a feat.

Although I assumed something different for the Paws of the Panther trait, prior to reading its actual benefit. Perhaps a slight rename, I totally expecting some kind of bonus to unarmed attacks. It is fitting after reading through it though.
Maybe that'll be Claws of the Panther :)
