Arcane Fusion spell from Complete Mage

My player used the Arcane Fusion spell from Complete Mage, casting both dimension door and magic missile against a dragon that he could not see initially around the corner. As it states that the spells are cast at the same time, could he "target" the dragon with the magic missile portion of the spell?

pretty much no. He'd need to have the effects go off in a certain order to do that.

When he cast the Magic Missile, he didn't have a line of effect to the Dragon it sounds like.

No... as the spells go off at the same time targeting is resolved simultaneously, there is no target for the missles to lock on to. There is no way to use Dimension Door with another spell following as the rules state that using the spell exhausts all other actions for the term.
