Community Domain

Rules Questions

Maybe I just don't play clerics as often as I'd like, but I came across a glaringly obvious error (At least to me. Am I reading something wrong?) while perusing cleric domains with a player tonight at level-up.

The cleric's domain of Community has a 4th level spell titled Status that is.... a 2nd level cleric spell? Really?

So, being fairly new to DMing myself, I turn to those that have a bit more experience. We were debating the usefulness of switching out the Status spell for Sending. Has anyone else run into this with their PC clerics? What conclusion did you come to?

I never noticed that before, and I agree that the Status spell is not worth a 4th level spell slot. Unless this has already been errata'd, I think that choosing a spell to replace it is a good idea.

As for which spell, I think Sending is a decent choice, but I also think that Good Hope might be a good community-conscious type spell to replace it. It is a 3rd level Bard spell, but many Domain spells are taken from other classes spell lists.

Edit: I just checked the errata and saw nothing regarding the Community domain.

Wow, lame. Lamer than Druids taking the Plant domain.

I suggestion Secure Shelter, Imbue with Spell Ability, and Tongues on top of the other suggestions. They all strike me as community/sharing spells.
