Sara Palin accuses Santa Clause of being a Socialist and engages in anti-semitism. This lady was almost vice-president of the US. I have no words to describe this.

Some people should just stay quiet to keep themselves out of trouble.

...this is a humor article.

"d E. Druckman is a humorist for the web. He gives his views on current events in both text and video. You can find out more about him by visiting his MySpace profile"

I wouldn't bother going to TMZ to find the video of Palin calling Santa a Socialist. There is, however, an amusing video of the Pope getting tackled if you're into that sort of thing.

The whole "santa's a socialist" thing is just rhetoric and comes as no surprise to me at this point. Red-scare fearmongering has been a common tactic since muslim fearmongering became less effective. But the repeated and unapologetic anti-semitism really is troubling. As if it weren't bad enough to say to the woman "your last name sounds Jewish," she commented on her anti-semitism by showing further xenophobia. Maybe she has a point, though, because it would be easy for those heathen jews to confuse Jesus and Santa Clause. :eyeroll:

I'm certainly not a fan of Palin. But I hope that someone noticed this at the bottom of the article:

Quote:

I'm pretty sure this editorial was intended as "humor."

Especially when they get suckered by humour articles. ;-)

I had no idea what a humor article was until now.

Edit: I guess the Onion counts, but that is blatantly obvious.

Thanks for the correction. This makes me feel a lot better. I actually thought it might have been from the Onion when I saw it posted on another forum, but I've never heard of Druckman so I didn't realize.

Druckman is a humorist but did Palin actually say the words?

My God, people. Do you believe everything you read, simply on the basis that it bashes Palin or some other conservative?

This thread is depressingly revealing.

If she actually said that stuff, I think the press would be all over it. A quick internet search reveals that no reputable news organizations are covering the story. I think the quotes are satire as well.

Although as satire goes, I would say the author touched pretty well on the fact that people will believe absolutely anything about Sarah Palin.

Well this was a good laugh on an otherwise-frustrating day. And no I don't mean the article.

I don't know if that's true. If someone were quoting her being articulate, well-informed, and/or professional, I wouldn't believe it even if it came from a reputable source.

You keep digging yourself even deeper my friend. ;)
