By the way, does anyone else feel like the Ood are being set up to become the new Time Lords? Particularly in Part One where they can see through the time stream, and not only recognize the fact that their society is advancing too quickly for the timeline to have not been played with, but accept that it is something that needs fixing. I wonder if they will play a bigger role in the Who mythology as time goes on.

Hmm, Doctor Ood? *ducks*

Let's hope! They're creepy and they're cool and the Beast Will Rise From The Pit to Make War Upon God.

What was I saying?

I do get that vibe, after all time is now without guardians and all. This may be something the universes set about fixing.

apparently the Moff had some "future plot seeds" added into the two-parter

the Ood, i think, was one of them!

Officially, I believe the writers have said it was the Doctor's mother. However, as it was never stated on screen, that's subject to change.

Personally, I'd vote for Susan.

Well since it's been apparently confirmed that Timothy Dalton was playing The Rassilon and that "billions are dying, being resurrected and dying repeatedly."

Given that, I'd go with the Doctor's mother. I'd assume Susan and Romana would have been killed and not broguth back early on, for opposing the actions of the Time Lords (for example if the Nightmare Child ate Davros, and it scared the Doctor to think of it coming back, it's safe to say it was a Time Lord weapon) or for opposing the plan to end time itself.

(Which sucks, since both of those characters' I'd like to see again. I'd also assume Leela and K-9 Mk I were dead some time ago)

Didn't Leela and K-9 step into a negative universe?
If she did she could be comming back.

The last I know, Leela and one of the K9s remained on Gallifrey at the end of Invasion of Time during the Tom Baker years. I don't know if they've featured in any novels since then. I think that was their last appearance in TV broadcasts.

Romana and K9 went into the N-space and stayed there, to teach that universes race of "time-sensatives" how to be time-lords

in the Novels, she came back and ended up as president of Galifrey

in the first Doctor-Who book-for-kids that came out after the reboot, it was mentioned that she was president at the start of the time-war

Doctor Who, unlike Star Wars and Star Trek, has no official canon, so it's hard to say if the Big Finish audio adventures and novels "really" happened.

The time war referred to in the current TV series seems to not contradict the time war that happened in the Big Finish productions. It very well could be Romana. Who knows if she ever returned from E-Space or not?
