Hiding in Plain Sight

I'm thinking about building my fighter towards a Shadow Dancer and I want clarification on hiding before I comit levels and feats towards the build.

Can I attack something with a standard action, then move away (Enduring the AoO) and hide in plain sight as a move action presuming there are shadows available?

Under the hide skill it says you can't hide while attacking something, but you can hide as part of a move. Depending on the GM's judgement, I could see it going either way.

Woah, I didn't mean to walk into a can of worms like that thread. I'm printing it out to overwhelm calcitrant G.M.s with the sheer weight of the argument.
