![]() O.K. Tanx for clearing up my misconceptions. I was also wondering about the +2 weapon example, so I'm glad Enevhar asked that too. I would like to buy for my Sorcerer a Staff of Magic Missile. As long as I'm in a town of 5,000 residents, and I have at least 18 TPA, I can just buy it for 3,200? Is there a problem about it being caster level 8 even though I would only be 4th or 5th, or that I'm ordering something designed from the Magic Item Creation section, and not buying one pre-designed on the table? Assuming it's legal for purchase in the first place, can I recharge it inbetween adventures by casting the magic missile spell, even though the craft staff feat is not legal for play? ![]()
![]() I run characters too, and I'd be happy to find that I'm wrong and you guys and my players are right, but what am I missing? Under Chapter 10 in the guide, Other Items: Weapons, armor, equipment, magic items and so on that are outside of these lists are not available for purchase at any time. "These Lists" are referring to:
It goes on to say see chapter 13 for items outside the core assumptions, but the core rulebook is the core assumption and I can't find anywhere in the guide to organized play that permits shopping for treasure in the core rule book except "All basic armor, gear, items, and weapons from chapter 6" Also under chapter 11 Spending and tracking prestige there is no mention that stuff purchased from chronicles gets a waiver from the TPA sallary cap. ![]()
![]() My older players are giving me so much blow-back on my reading of the v2.2 guide, I'd like you good board dwellers to back me up or set me strait on treasure. The way I'm reading v2.2 The only items in the universe they can buy are those found on their chronicles and the few things listed in chapter 10. If they want to buy something off of a chronicle, even then they are limited to the max. item cost on table 11-2.
Some of my players believe because it used to be the case that:

![]() Our group runs home games (2 pathfinder society scenarios from 10:00 am until we are finished between 4-7 pm) every other sunday, homes rotate through Moreno Valley, Montclair, Orange, and Playadelrey. (Sofar, there will probably be more) I'll drop you an email in a couple days when I post the next game which will be for Sunday the 24th. I announce the games at the socal yahoo group and a number of other games are announced there too. ![]()
![]() I understand that prestige points sets a limit on how expensive an item I can purchase with my gold. I'm specificaly asking about the entry on table 11.1 (Free Purchase of 750 gp) for 2 prestige. I see that it says you may never pool prestige, but that seem to me to be reffering to multiple players pooling prestige. I see the little note 3 Githzilla is talking about that the table says I can only spend 2 per scenario, but that actually says you can only get a single item at the appropriate cost which could be interpreted as saying you can only get one item per scenario. There are two ways to read this:
or 2) once per scenario you can get one item at a rate of 2 prestige points for 750gp like spending 12 prestige on a wand of cure moderate wounds. ![]()
![]() GPFSOP Chapter 6 Addtnl Rules & Clarifications says regarding Spell Duration: Simply put, any spell cast by a PC during a scenario ends at the end of that scenario. This does not apply to conditions a PC may have gained during the course of a scenario. Does this mean I ignore the duration of players spells like Protection From Evil? Could a wizard take off his armor, cast a buff spell w/ no spell failure chance, then re-don his armor and play the scenario? ![]()
![]() I'm thinking about building my fighter towards a Shadow Dancer and I want clarification on hiding before I comit levels and feats towards the build. Can I attack something with a standard action, then move away (Enduring the AoO) and hide in plain sight as a move action presuming there are shadows available? Under the hide skill it says you can't hide while attacking something, but you can hide as part of a move. Depending on the GM's judgement, I could see it going either way. ![]()
![]() I also had a gm credit problem w/ assault on the kingdom impossible Sunday. One of the players wouldn't play because she had run in it before. I told her she could make a new character, but she was affraid it was breaking society rules so she GM'd instead. Is it O.K. to play in the same scenario w/ different characters if you just fight and don't use insider knowledge? How about for a GM, can I play with a character in a scenario I have run in the past presuming the character is different than the one I gave credit too when I ran it? ![]()
![]() Robyn / Miniaturepeddler, I'm sorting out the details of who's going to dm which module, but I'll be posting an announcement for another home game in montclair a week from sunday, Dec. 8 (We play more or less every other sunday from 10:00 in the morning untill we are done anywhere from 4-6 in the afternoon. It will be two scenarios, tiers 1&2 either of you will be welcome, I just ask for rsvps asap. Sorry about the long drive, you should find work and lodging near here so you can more comfortably make it to the gameday. It's just a question of propper priorities. ![]()
![]() if a rogue uses a wand of produce flame does he need one standard action to trigger the wand and another to make the touch attack? How about a ranged touch attack? if a ranger buys a wand of resist energy, does he need to declare what type of energy at the time of purchase? For example does he buy a wand of resist fire, or does he get to declare which type of energy when he uses it. ![]()
![]() I'm also excited about starting a pathfinder gameday, having just come back from Neoncon in Las Vegas. I will follow your advice about starting a Yahoo group and building an event page on warhorn.net. Being that I live in SoCal I'm expecting more warm bodies than I can comfortably fit in my little condo and in lieu of convincing nearby gamestores to let us use their tables, do you have any suggestions for a venue to run about 3 tables besides a game store? |
