Expedition to Tharkad-Kûl PbP needs players

Gamer Connection

Hey all. I am running a Play-By-Post game called Expedition to Tharkad-Kûl. Recently we lost a few players, so I am looking for 1-4 repacements. It is currently in town between adventures, so this would be an optimum time to insert folks. A rogue-style player would be most useful.

If you are interested, post up here. Hope to hear from you!

briefly read the thread and sounds very interesting... what does the party need and i take it under pathfinder rules? and the only other info would be what are character creation info?

Hi Nasserath, and thank you for your interest. We are using Pathfinder rules, third level, normal GP, epic point buy for stats. HP are max for level, with double on first level, i.e: (MAX HP x2)+CON MOD.

I will warn you we have changed from the dungeon crawling they started with at the beginning. They are now outside, contemplating what to do. They could go back to delving or continue on with the caravan they are travelling with.

I'm really keen too. Three games I PbP have recently died at pretty much the same time. What sort of characters do you need to replce the missing ones? I'd certainly consider the rogue but wondered what else there was?

sweet... will catch up this afternoon and have something ready by tonight/ tomorrow

Hi Abstract!

Well, other than the rogue, some more arcanist-style guys would be nice. We have three clerics, so no need for healers. Also, we just lost some good meleers, so that is always an option.

Would you consider a cavalier?

Sure! I haven't digested the new rules yet, but I am willing to give it a go. There are plenty of knightly orders in my world, come up with a cavalier and we shall playtest it through its paces.

This game was originally a Beta testdrive so we are used to rapid rules changes ..

I'm tentatively interested. I'll read through the game thread to catch up and see what I might be getting into. I'm already in two games though, which isn't a problem for me but I'd understand if you want to spread the wealth around (or limit the number of extra people to the game).

Hi Zurai!

I am willing to take on up to four folks, mainly because you can have more people in a PbP group, and I find about 25-50% of new additions tend to drop out of the game for one reason or another after the first month. If you feel like you could post at least once every two days (and hopefully more, participation is key in a PbP) that's all we need.

I am a pretty loose-DM on style, it's story over mechanics for me, and I usually let the players do what they wish character-wise, as long as they aren't overshadowing the others.

Sounds fine to me. Like I said, I'll read through the game thread as soon as I can and start working something up.

im leaning towards a wizard...

I've got a concept for an Elven paladin, specializing in archery.

Daris to' Evaryth

Want me to send the character sheet in?

3K in starting gear, with what percentage tied into a single item? Half, quarter, or a third (I've seen all three presented as options).

Not sure if you have hit your max, but I would love to get in a game. I was thinking sorceror, if you still need another arcanist.

Hi AAG!

Umm, I think we did a 1/3 max. Send the character sheet in! The group is just entering an elven-dominated area.

Hi Gerald! I will keep you on an alternate list, but I have already hit four. :(

I don't see an email address in your profile.

Can you email me at ken.burnside AT gmail (dot) commmerc-merce?

Still reading through at the moment. One question about character creation: Are you allowing any classes outside of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook and (as you've OK'd a cavalier) the APG playtest stuff? I wouldn't mind playing a Spellthief (Complete Adventurer) as the rogue-type, but it's perfectly fine if you're sticking to a core game and/or don't have access to CAdv. I'll pick up a Rogue in that case.

That's fine, Patrick. Just drop me a line if there is another opening. Thanks!

Sure. I am pretty loose on character concept, and I have a pretty complete collection of WotC 3rd Edition books. I'll look the spellthief over. APG stuff is fine too.

3,000 to start

I applied common-sense Pathfinder conversions (namely, converting skills, hit dice, and the Trapfinding ability); everything else is as written in CAdv as far as Spellthief stuff.

PS. Take that, PostMonster! Your dinner denied!

Hi all. Zurai, to my admittedly weak crunch-fu eyes your character looks fine.

AdAstra, I got your email, and I am working on the issues you raised in it. I will post a response soonish.

I went over the spelltheif info, and I don't see anything really wrong with it. I have perused the Cavalier, and it would segue well with several organizations I have put in place already. Just tell me what order you are thinking of Abstract.

If anyone wants to contact me via email it is:

I just tried to work with what you gave me for background; if I took it in ways you don't like, it can change. :)

My cavalier will be up within the next twelve hours or thereabouts. I'll keep religion open for discussion...

Nope, you are correct with the things you raised. This setting is totally open-ended, it wasn't supposed to be more than a 'background' for the dungeon crawl, but it is taking a life of its own. I really don't have much on file for the Silver Elves, so anything you can contribute is fine!

Sweet. Look forward to it! :)

abstract xp here - the basis of my cavalier is up (Corvus). Need to work to choose an appropriate religion. Do you have something in mind? Also, I haven't spent any gold until the religion is chosen. It'll affect my choice of weapon and armor no doubt.

Yeah, I should shoot you an email and hammer out a background for Kolo as well. Initial thoughts were for a halfling raised in a primarily dwarven district/city/village/etc, so he's more serious and workmanlike than most halflings. Not religious, but does believe that Gods exist and have power in the world (ie, agnostic, not atheist).

I'm open. A lot of the players are test driving Golarion gods, but I basically had the Garonan's worshipping the Roman pantheon by default. There are some indigenous hill folks (dalesmen) who follow Celtic gods. If you have a favorite deity I can work them in.
