I want the Pirate Treehouse at timecode 1:50
For me the Holiday is Christmas, and I'm an unabashed Materialist-Consumerist American (I'm working on my eyebrow lift and hideous, wicked laugh).
This year, my wife is getting a maxed-out iMac, the youngest is getting baby stuff (she's only 101 days old today), the middle is getting a hobbyhorse, and the oldest is getting a DS Lite and Macbook.
I'm hopefully getting an awesome atomic Pathfinder watch (pleasepleasepleaseplease, Santa).
What are you guys giving?
What do you hope to get?

I'm mostly giving books, it seems. My sisters and I are all artists, so my older sister and I are putting money together to get my twin a book on making her own plush toys (she makes these great stuffed dogs, cats, radishes, strawberries, narwhals, etc. to sell on Etsy) and I'm getting my older sister a book on shopping for and negotiating with professional printers so she can maybe put her own books and stuff together.
My mother is getting a metal ladle and a pancake flipping tool. I'm looking at getting my father a book on Aaron Burr, because he always talks about how we're related to him and other 19th century criminals. My grandmother is getting some potted bulbs she can grow in the house during the winter.
I asked for some Pathfinder adventures, You Are Forgiven by Matt Leines, Resident Evil 5, Futurama DVDs and some other books.

Ask and ye shall receive:
Sian Keegan.com and my older sister is at Caitlin Keegan.com. And, of course, I'm at James M Keegan.com, though I haven't updated for a long time.

I want to be employed again. Might have a lead on that, but nothing's for sure yet.
As far as gifts go we tend to just give gift cards or money, gift cards are simpler all around and money is always helpful, it's sad but true that most of my Xmas gifts over the past couple of years have gone to bills. I'll probably get a few things to B&N or Border's, maybe a couple to one of the local geek shacks (Fry's Electronics or Best Buy) or local gaming store. But it'll likely be a small Xmas all around, as far as gifts go.
The best gift of all is coming in today though, a friend of mine who's back from his two-year military tour in Korea for a few weeks and spending a few days in Phoenix before heading off to Fort Hood and then Iraq a few months from now. Even the members of the gang who have moved are coming back to Phoenix for a few days to visit.

Well, in retrospect, this is probably the worst thread I've ever started, especially given the general state of affairs.
:-(
Really?
The really big stuff (the economy, the debt, wars, starvation, poverty, diseases...) isn't going to get magically wished away. I'm sure most of us here do what we can to make the world a better place in our own little ways. At the end of the day, isn't it ok to occasionally treat ourselves a little?

Mailing a whole bunch of care packages to my family across the states and 2 internationally; none of it gaming related.
What am I getting? Not a whole lot; the economy has hit my family bad. My dad has been laid off from work with less than a year away to retirement. My sister-in-law has ben terminally depressed for going on almost three years since to my brother's suicide and my girlfriend broke up with me on Thanksgiving.
I could use peace of mind this holiday season; failing that some extra cash to buy some Christmas presents for myself; I have a list of Paizo PDFs I'd like to get.

I wish I had never started this thread--it's actually statistically full of more pain and depressing sadness than anything else.
Maybe the Paizo Powers should just delete it. Seriously.
:-(
Hopefully this will help. I'm getting my girlfriend an engagement ring and a new title. :-)

Giving A Pound of Dice for my Nephew & Niece to share (plus the both of them will be getting their own copy of the Pathfinder rulebook), giving my sister a laptop (Dell Mini 10v) a 4.2 oz bottle of Polo Double Black cologne for my brother in law.
As for myself, my parents already bought me a blue 2009 Honda Civic! I bought myself a Pathfinder coffee cup I had printed through Cafe Press and about $200 worth of used D20 products from Amazon Marketplace.
I have a large extended family; 4 aunts and 2 uncles on my dad's side and 6 uncles and three aunts on my mom's side. They all know how much much I am into gaming and always manageto send me gamning gifts each holiday season.

Marriage, the gift that keeps on giving. By the way, I will sing at wedding for a large consideration in miniatures.
How about Marvel Heroclix thugs and A.I.M. agents?

Jam412 |

Sorry: Fantasy minis only. I'd probably also take horror. No modern, sci-fi, or superheroes.
Aw, c'mon. With the AIM agents, all that you would have to do is cut the guns off and you would have a really stupid looking ninja. Or some sort of ultra flamboyant bee keeper..

What do I want? You really want to know what I want, Mr. Morden? I want to crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentations of their women. Does that satisfy you and your "associates", Mr. Morden? Now please leave me!
Fortunately for myself, I have no one to lament over. Yet. I'm hoping Santa will leave me a strapping young man under the tree this year.

I want a GPS with the voice of Gary Bussey giving directions:
"Ok, now turn right and go up two blocks. You will see a liquor store on the left but don't go into it; the cop that hangs out in the parking lot is a real prick. Proceed half a mile to another liquor store on your right..."

Additional downloadable dialogue options:
"No, you idiot, your other left. You're a f%&$in' numbskull, you know that?! God! I got a f#~!in' s#%$-fer-brains driving the g$*+#!ned car! Hey, man! How 'bout them Cowboys, huh?! F#$*in' spectacular. OK, now go left. L-E-F-T, God...!""

I used to see Gary Busey once or twice a year at Cowboys games, and my ex-in-laws had to deal with him on an even more frequent basis as a part of the organization. Wow. The guy's a nut. An enthusiastic, Cowboys lovin' nut. I wonder if he still goes to the games (didn't seem him last time I went, but now I go as part of the hoi polloi).
