I was reading through my “working copy” of the Core rules the other day and noticed something strange. In the description of the Acrobatics skill where it talks about moving through threatened squares it says that (1) you move at half-speed, but you can move at full-speed by adding 10 to the DC; (2) you cannot use Acrobatics to move past foes if your speed has been reduced due to a medium or heavy load or you are wearing medium or heavy armor; (3) if you can still move at full-speed under those conditions then you can still use Acrobatics.
Now under the Combat Maneuver section on Overrun there is no such encumbrance or armor restriction. However, you do provoke an AoO unless you have Improved Overrun. I noticed there is no 10 foot starting run on Overrun either.
Now where this gets strange is that I read this as meaning a Dwarf in heavy armor can use Acrobatics to move past a foe but a Fighter in medium armor cannot. The Fighter would have to use Overrun to get in a position to set up a flank for the Rogue. Is this how you see it?

The rules that those in heavy armor can tumble, so the dwarf also can't tumble. You only have to fill any of those conditions, not all of them to be denied tumble. The dwarf fills a condition. I think it was written like that to make sure nobody tried to get around the rule.
From the PRD
You cannot use Acrobatics to move past foes if your speed is reduced due to carrying a medium or heavy load or wearing medium or heavy armor.

Wraith, I don't understand your logic, or maybe you had a typo.
As written, a dwarf never has it's speed reduced due to wearing heavy armor. So, per the rules, a dwarf wearing heavy armor with a light load could use acrobatics to move through the square (becasue he doesn't have his speed reduced). A human fighter could not. The only precondition to denying an acrobatics roll is the speed reduction.
The only way it could be interpreted as you are stating is if it said
You cannot use Acrobatics to move past foes if [clause]your speed is reduced due to carrying a medium or heavy load[/clause], or wearing medium or heavy armor.

@wraithstrike,
Dwarf Racial Traits
Slow and Steady: Dwarves have a base speed of 20 feet, but their speed is never modified by armor
or encumbrance.
ACROBATICS skill description:……In addition, you can move through a threatened square without provoking an attack of opportunity from an enemy by using Acrobatics. When moving in this way, you move at half speed. You can move at full speed by increasing the DC of the check by 10. You cannot use Acrobatics to move past foes if your speed is reduced due to carrying a medium or heavy load or wearing medium or heavy armor. If an ability allows you to move at full speed under such conditions, you can use Acrobatics to move past foes. You can use Acrobatics in this way while prone, but doing so requires a full-round action to move 5 feet, and the DC is increased by 5.
If you check the above quotes, you will notice that even though Acrobatics says that one cannot move through a threatened square while carrying a medium or heavy load that in fact a Dwarf never has his movement hampered by a medium or heavy load. Therefore I conclude that a Dwarf wearing heavy armor and carrying a heavy load may still use the Acrobatics check to move through a threatened square. I will concede that it seems a little strange, but I read it that way.

From the Core rulebook:
"You cannot use Acrobatics to move past foes if your speed is reduced due to carrying a medium or heavy load or wearing medium or heavy armor. If an ability allows you to move at full speed under such conditions, you can use Acrobatics to move past foes."
7th level fighters do not get speed reduction from heavy armor... so fighters in full plate can tumble from level 7+
You just have to make sure your WEIGHT does not result in a medium or heavy load and your fine (therefore, high STR figthers of 7+ should have no problem; high DEX fighters of 7+ might though, so for these, make sure that if you go full plate, you go mithral full plate or other lightweight combos)
Dwarves in full plate can tumble at any level, for any level of encumbrance.
