Price of Iron?

Can anyone out there tell me how much Iron costs? What is a going price? GP/lbs?

There's a table for trade goods in the PH pg112, iron is priced out at 1sp/lb

Awesome...now we can go and look at one of those early D&D adventures where the PCs stumble across a Dwarf Blacksmith being held hostage and put a price on the eight stacks of fifty 100lb iron ingots and realize it was worth 4000gp. A hell of a lot more than the Thousands in Silver coins being held in treasure by his Kobold Captors.

If they can shift, what, 16 tons? of iron to someone willing to buy it, they probably deserve the money.

Thats what the bags of holding are for...that and the two store rooms of Weapons, Grain, Barrels, ect.

I equiped my Peasant uprising with that lot. Sure they still died but they equited themselves well.

My rule is that (on average) you can sell an amount per day determined by your Profession (merchant) skill check.

Actually we took him back to a cillage and set him up as as the local Lord. Sure he continued to make swords...
