My expectation is for three books a month to pop through my letterbox (1 chronicle, 1 AP, 1 of either module or companion).
I have had a glut of chronicles this month and am led to expect:
both a companion and a module in December
two chronicles, and both a module and companion in January
two chronicles and two APs in February.
So rather than three books a month I'm now paying for four or five.
And this at a time when the move to PFRPG has necessitated to purchase of two expensive books (PFRPG core rulebook and Bestiary) and possibly more (replacing defunct gm screen with PF version).
Are we going to return to the original release cycle any time soon?

The problem is that there were months not that long ago when you didn't get 1 Chronicle, 1 AP, and either a module or companion. So those products got pushed "downstream" as the guys struggled to get caught up. You can blame it on the 2 RPG core books, GenCon, and the move to new offices. We also decided that we needed to do a little more staffing, and hired Rob McCreary. We are also hiring a contract editor (just posted the job last Wednesday). Once we are caught up, which we hope to be by May of next year if not a touch sooner, than things should return to the more normal 1 Chronicle, 1 AP, and either a module or companion. But while we are getting caught up, there may be more bunches.

Man, most people complain that they're not getting *enough* stuff :) I know what you mean, though, as I got my Bestiary and GM screen bunched up this month. In this instance it wasn't exactly a financial burden but if I had a chronicles and companion sub (which I have considered) I could imagine waking up one morning to find a big chunk taken out of my credit card.
As it stands, my main concern about volume is maintaining quality...which it seems like Paizo is doing.

Thanks for the quick response, Lisa. With Christmas coming I'm just a bit more aware of what money is going out.

I'd just like to point out that while the AP is designed to be monthly, and the Modules and Companions are intended to be bimonthly in alternating months, the Chronicles line is *not* considered a monthly line; that is, the Chronicles schedule will sometimes vary by intent as well as happenstance.
