I've been looking over the PFRPG over the break, and have been thinking about creating an assassin for a game. The problem I'm having, though, is coming up with the lead-in to the PrC. Fighter, perhaps? Rogue? I know I'd like to make use of poison somewhat, as it appears to work in a way that I like now. I'd like to toss in a little Ezio from Assassin's Creed 2 as well, but not enough to just make Ezio as a DnD character. More his sneakiness than his combat prowess.
If this is too confusing, I apologize. I'll try to clarify if it appears meandering.

Definitely Rogue. It's the best way to get plenty of skills, and it's still the most obvious lead-in for assassin. Thanks to Pathfinder's skill system you can take a level or two of fighter if you wanted to boost your combat skill, but definitely at least a few rogue levels.
(Of course, if you were going to stat up Ezio as a D&D character, he'd be a Rogue/Assassin, but that's neither here nor there.)
