Deeper Darkness and shadows

Rules Questions

If a light source is partially blocked it creates a shadow or shaded area.

So does the same apply to Deeper Darkness? If you were behind a 5ft wide wall within the area of Deeper Darkness would that wall create a "shaded area" where a regular light spell could be used to see at least a little around you so you could see enough to, say, cast from a scroll?

Sovereign Court

Basically yes, if you have sufficient cover from the object radiating the darkness the normal lighting conditions would prevail.

If darkness is cast on a small object that is then placed inside or under a lightproof covering, the spell's effect is blocked until the covering is removed.
