Core Rulebook p. 229 states:
"Cudgel or quarterstaff becomes +1 weapon (1d10 damage) for 1min./level"
I'm going to assume cudgel = club here...
In the spell description (Core Rulebook p. 343) it states:
"[The weapon] deals damage as if it were two size categories larger (a Small club or quarterstaff so transmuted deals 1d8 points of damage, a Medium 2d6, and a Large 3d6), +1 for its enhancement bonus."
Staves/clubs do 1d6 (Medium) damage. If you advance the weapon damage twice according to Core Rulebook Table 6-5 (p. 145) then you get to 1d10 (which would match the brief on p.229).
The two listings contradict - I'd be inclined to house-rule in favor of 1d10. Thoughts?

1d4 goes to 1d6, 1d6 goes to 1d8, 1d8 goes to 2d6, 2d6 goes to 3d6
1d10 goes to 2d8

@tejon when would these exceptions (?) take place?
Generally when going backwards. The table assumes the base weapon is medium; the change from medium to small is often different than the equivalent change from large to medium. Notably, 1d10 drops to 1d8 and 2d6/1d12 drops to 1d10.
It's slightly annoying. :)

One thing I would add, in the case of 3.5 at least, is that there are times when you increase a weapon up the weapon table, rather than increasing it's effective size.
In this case, a d8 would go up to a d10, or a d10 to a d12/2d6.
These are few and far between, and usually more a GM issue with changing mechanics than a player issue, but there you have it.
