Channel Smite + Alignment Channel

I'm making a Demon Slayer type character, starting with levels in Ranger for the Favored Enemy Bonus then moving to Cleric. Two feats I was considering were Channel Smite and Alignment Channel. However, Channel Smite says specifically that if I channel positive energy and hit an undead creature it takes damage. Does that mean that Alignment Channel wouldn't allow me to smite with Channel Smite against an evil outsider?

I would allow it. I view the Aligned Channel as overriding the Channel Smite use of Positive/Negative energy.

RAW it won't work. Most GMs will probably allow it though.

As a side note, you might want to ask your GM if you can channel a heal through your weapon with Channel smite as well. It seems to make sense and it can be useful.

Actually that's a question for my other odd cleric, a swash-buckling cleric of Cayden Cailean who wields a rapier in his main hand and a tankard of endless ale in the other. Fluff-wise I intend for him to cast through the tankard and it would be great to smack the Fighter upside the head and heal him.

And it is very useful to be able to use a channel heal without healing all your enemies too :)
