Random treasure tables? Where did they go?

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

I have been putting together a small dungeon crawl for my gaming group this Saturday. This will give my DM a bit of a break. I have enjoyed reading chapter 12. I appreciated the advice on focusing on stat blocks, encounters, and treasure.
I have now gotten to the treasure placement. I have gotten my dice out and I am looking for some random treasure tables to roll on. Have I missed them? Are they still around? I do like the idea of having a gold piece budget to spend for the encounter, but is the treasure placement purely left to DM fiat? Are there tables for me to roll on? For a CR 3 encounter how do I determine the probability of magical treasure showing up? What have I missed? Since I am guest DMing I want to make sure I stick to the Pathfinder book. Thanks.

I miss the random treasure tables as well, and no they are not in the PF core rulebook.

Which means, my friend, that the only arbiter of what they get is you (and what your normal GM advises you if you bother to ask for advice)

In other words, look at the party, see what kind of stuff they can use, see what things would be cool, see how much they have compared to wealth by level, and pick out a few things that don't overpower them but that they would love to get their mitts on.

In fact, that's the approach I already use, it's one of the few things I took from 4e, but there are still random tables for magic item selection.

here's a good little page with some helpful utilities, treasure generator included

edit, I had never really looked at the treasure generator until now and it seems a little off but ymmv. The other utilities are nice regardless

Thank you all for you suggestions. I have done the treasure by the gp budget per encounter. Initially it seems like more work, but it makes you think more about what you are putting in the game. Mr. Drizzt thanks for the link to the website, I will check it out.

or just use the 3.5 charts which still work just fine.

Since this dead thread has been raised, the Game Mastery Guide has a ton of random charts (including treasures). Great resource.
