I've read a few references on this conflict, mostly in the "Falcon's Hollow" mini-campaign and the "Guide to Darkmoon Vale". Has there been anything more said anywhere else as to what happened, or why? Judging from what I've read apparently hordes of goblinkin just surged out of their lairs and attacked everyone they met.
For that matter, how many nations were affected? I think it hit Andoran, Isger, the Kalistocracy of Druma, and the dwarves of the Five Kings Mountains. Was it just a local war, or was it more widespread?
Thanks for any answers.

it's referenced in:
p 82, 83, and 203 in the campaign setting.p22 intro to hobgoblins in classic monsters revisited
p 34 of gazeteer
p47 of guide to darkmoon vale
A brief rundown, mostly from the campaign setting
happened in 4697
hobgoblin commanders led hundreds of goblin tribes as they emerged from the forests of the Chitterwood. Untold number of dead travelers and merchants. A small order of Hellknights from Cheliax, a contingent of Druma’s Mercenary League, and a regiment of Eagle Knights of Andoran combined forces to fight the goblin hordes. These wars are known for their number of dead on all sides of the field.
Much of the Chitterwood was burned to the ground after the war, causing any gobliniod survivors to hide in caverns below the forests
places :along the Conerica Straits
Isgeri towns
Chitterwood
to the feet of the Five Kings Mountains.
It did not actually go into Andoran as far as I can tell..

Huh, I was thinking on a Andoren character who was a war orphan (as I recall, the burned-down orphanage from Darkmoon Vale was filled with kids who'd lost their parents to the goblin hordes; and there is that order of female diabolic monks in Isger). Well, I can say that his family and some others lived in a small fortified steading close to the Andoran/Isger/Kalistocracy border; who knows, maybe the family farm ended up like Roarkes Drift in Zulu!

Because the Eagle Knights final line was just outside the Vale, many of the buildings housed refugees (the orphanage and one of the taverns both mention housing refugees from towns attacked by the horde
