Well as the days begin to get cold, I find myself wondering, which is the better wintertime food, soup or stew? Discuss.
Soup! There's many more variations. They are like pie, superior to any other choices.

Since the question specified "wintertime snack", I'd have to go with soup. Stew, being heartier, is more of a meal.

I've heard chocolate is used but never had it. I've added cinnamon and brown sugar to chili.
Pfft. The real way to beat the wintertime chill is with hard liquor. I suppose you could mix it in the bathtub with some fruit and call it a stew, but it's a pretty girly type of stew. You should drink it straight out of the bottle instead.
I still go with soup, because it encompasses the delicious cream-based ones.
Hmm... while the stew does have the benefit of the extra texture, I think that soups are clearly the best option - they're completely overpowered unless you restrict the number of flavours they have access to! (given time and resources, you could have a soup with every possible flavour!)
