Largest Anglo-Saxon Gold Hoard Found

A huge hoard of Saxon gold and artifacts has been found in Staffordshire.

I didn't see a post about this so I thought I would link some articles. I apologize if I missed it somehow.

I can't believe some of the masterful work on those pieces. There has never been a doubt that Anglo-Saxon jewelry is beautiful, but these even blow the doors off previously discovered pieces. The inlaid garnet hilt and scabbard pieces were amazing. Some of the other work was nearly breathtaking.

Yeah, I hadn't seen some of those pictures before - I just read the story the other day. The level of detail is amazing. Usually when someone discovers an artifact in their yard, it's like a metal shard that was once part of a plow, or something lame like that.

I read about this in the Telegraph. The video of the items made if much more impressive! Looks like it going to be close to Sutton Hoo in significance.
