Ranger Combat Style - Greater Two Weapon Fighting

Rules Questions

I posted this under the errata section in General Discussion. If this is the wrong place for this please delete it.

Please excuse me if this has already been posted or explained, but on page 65 in the section on Combat Style it speaks of being able to acquire "Greater Two Weapon Fighting" at level 10. However, the feat section has the prerequisite for "Greater Two Weapon Fighting" as requiring a BAB of +11. In thinking about this, a BAB of +10 (which for the Ranger is level 10) only allows two attacks as Full-Round actions. Does it seem right that a Ranger would be allowed to get three attacks with his off-hand and two attacks with his Primary hand?

Just my 2 cp.

Liberty's Edge

Well as for the prereq, if I am not mistaken it also states in there somewhere that the ranger need not meet the prerequisites. Now, I don't have my book handy so it is not a direct quote, but I am pretty sure that bit is in there. As for will it be useful at level 10, perhaps, perhaps not. That part I have no answer for you.

Combat Style Feat (Ex): At 2nd level, a ranger must select one of two combat styles to pursue: archery or two-weapon combat. The ranger's expertise manifests in the form of bonus feats at 2nd, 6th, 10th, 14th, and 18th level. He can choose feats from his selected combat style, even if he does not have the normal prerequisites.

Emphasis mine.

When a ranger takes a combat style feat, he does not have to meet the prerequisites for that feat. As such, yes, a ranger can, by RAW, have three off-hand attacks and two primary attacks. Bear in mind that this also means that a ranger can take Greater Two-Weapon Fighting without having TWF or Improved TWF; a ranger with Dex 10 could take Quick Draw at level 2, Double Slice at level 6, and Greater Two-Weapon Fighting at level 10. Granted, that would be a spectacularly suboptimal choice, but it is permissible.
