[Query] Alertness not available to Animal Companions?

I am implementing Animal Companion feats, and I noticed something. The Animal Feats section on page 53 of the Core Rule Book does not lists the Alertness feat as one an Animal Companion can take.

Yes, "GM might expand this list..." but this look odd to me... Was this an oversight? Did I miss something? Did they mention this in another part of the CRB? (Considering that many of the 3.5 animals have Alertness...!)

Give them skill focus (perception) instead. Alertness now grants a bonus on perception and sense motive rolls.

Yes, if you look at the various translated animals in the Preview Bestiaries, you'll notice they generally have Skill Focus (Perception).
