Bindlplotz continues reloading, but looks around to make sure nothing is sneaking up behind him.

Round 5
______________________________
Jon_________
Spinnaker Jon grins as he attacks with a rapid series of cuts, grinning hugely, but the pirate ducks them with unnatural quickness.

Enemies_____
The pirate attacks Spinnaker Jon; slashing with its scimitar and biting with its fanged maw, but Jon parries both.
Bindlplotz___
Reloads as quickly as he can manage, keeping a wary eye on the backfield.

Annie_______
Annie's lips curled in a snarl as she was unable to reach the last savage creature. She tried as best she could to shoot around the corner of the stalagmite, but it ricochets off the stony wall.

Bryson______
Roaring with a berserk incoherence, Bryson shoulders Spinnaker Jon aside and assaults the last pirate. Despite his frenzy, the creature avoids his attack.

Ghirrak_____
Ghirrak launches into a somersault, flipping past Dgrim to drive an elbow into the savage pirate throat with a sickening crunch. Even the unnatural resilience of the Savage Pirate is unable to absorb the blow, and it staggers under Ghirrak’s piledriver. Even so, it fights on.

Dgrim_______
Swings the scimitar, but…
…confirm fumble? 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
... it's an ordinary miss.

Club: damage 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 3) + 3 = 9

Bindlplotz:

You hear something... a womans voice...
"Where are you my love? Is that you?"
Then you see her. The woman was well dressed and probably good looking, before the savage fever struck her, now she has pustules, claws, and tendrils growing out of her face. A mess of food that fell out of her mouth stains her front; raw fish, seaweed, and ... sea anemone? Her eyes glow red, and somehow more cunning; unlike those pirates. And she's barely twenty feet away from you!
"I knew you wouldn't leave me! Soooooo hungry... please... feed me..."

As a technical note, you can actually fire your musket this round, even though you haven't finished loading. The downside is that you'll lose your ramrod; making your musket into an unbalanced spear until you find it or make a new one.

Set for charge. As she hits the bayonet can I fire it.

Annie hears a horrible explosion behind her and runs over to see what happened to Bindlplotz. Move to H-11, may move farther depending on what she sees

Round 5

Jon_________
Would have hit this round, except for Bryson bumping him aside last round. He snarls, and considers bumping him aside as well, but he controls himself. He turns and explores back into the maze…

Enemies_____
Pirate 3 turns and attacks Ghirrak in a frenzy, but Ghirrak dodges all of them with deceptively swaying movements.
The savage girl lunges at Bindlplotz, “Hungreeeeee” but just grazes him.

Bindlplotz___

Bindlplotz abandons reloading to jam the bayonet into her body, but misses. Then he grins and pulls the trigger; but with a metallic snap, nothing happens. Misfire!
Annie_______
Annie runs back around to find Bindlplotz being assaulted by a horrible parody of a woman.
[npc] Firing her crossbow into its back:
Attack (ranged, target in melee): 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 5 - 4 = 10 Miss!

Bryson______
Bryson clubs at the savage pirate with his enchanted club.
"DIE!"
Landing a crushing blow to its head…
The savage pirate erupts in a frenzy of motion as he makes a last bite attack against Ghirrak, which he dodges.
He then collapses in a boneless heap and his body erupts in a splash of acid, doing 1d6 ⇒ 3 points acid damage to Ghirrak, Dgrim and Bryson unless a Reflex save DC15 is made.
Bryson: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 Save!
Dgrim: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 Save!
Ghirrak: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 Save!

Round 7

______________________________
Jon_________
Starts to hurry back at the sound of Bindlplotz’ gunshot.

Enemies_____
She pleads “Sssoooooo HUNGRREEE!” Her jaws open out and she lunges forward again, trying to power through Dgrim.

Rapier attack vs. Dgrim's AC21: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 1 = 15 Miss! Glanced aside from his armor.
Bite attack: 1d20 + 0 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 0 + 1 = 19 Miss! Shield blocked.

Bindlplotz___
“RAH!!!” Bindlplotz screams as he draws and fires his Carbine (medium pistol), blowing the savage girls right hand off. Her sword, still with her hand clutching it, skitters to Annies feet.
She doesn’t appear to notice as she advances on Bindlplotz, who tries to fade back out of sight.

[npc]Annie_______
She reloads, then fires again.
Attack (ranged, target in melee): 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 5 - 4 = 18 Hit! Direct hit to the center chest for 1d8 ⇒ 6 piercing damage.

The savage girl erupts in a frenzy of motion as she makes a last bite attack against Dgrim, which he takes on his armor.
She then collapses in a boneless heap, reaching for Bindlplotz all the while. Her body then erupts in a splash of acid, doing 1d6 ⇒ 6 points acid damage to Ghirrak, Dgrim and Bryson unless a Reflex save DC15 is made.
Bryson: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 Save!
Dgrim: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 Save!
Ghirrak: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Save!

Drops the Carbine and draws the second, hastily firing it, making it hit a fleshy part of her arm, causing no real damage.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 +2 vs human
1d8 ⇒ 1 +2 vs human (damn you DR!!!)

Then he notes why there was no real damage as she is dissolving into acid

As Bindlplotz' carbine goes off next to him...

Dgrim Ref save vs DC15: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Dgrim, now wary of those diabolical gnomish contraptions, twists aside at the last second to save his hearing, so only his cloths and face are blackened with gunsmoke.

Male Human Bard/Rogue (Seasinger/Pirate) L4 | AC 19(T14FF15) | HP 29/29 | Saves: F2R8W3 | Init: +5 | Perc: +4 | Bard Perf: 7/7 | Status:

Bryson lets out a scream of rage and hurries away from the gunsmoke further into the maze.

"Glad 't see yer alright Bindle! Wait'll ye see..."
Bryson screams in a rage as he shoves by Spinnaker Jon to run on into the maze.
Recovering, Jon wonders "What's eatin' him all of a sudden?"

Perception DC15:

In the pool of acid, there is some jewelry and very nice rapier; even more surprising, her suit of studded leather is undamaged.

Following Bryson deeper into the maze, you eventually come to a sudden widening of the passage into a cavern as it exits the maze.

This cavern has been outfitted with the finest in stolen furniture.
Thick rugs cover the floor, and fine silk tapestries and masterful seascape paintings hang from the walls, giving the place an almost regal feel.
A four-poster bed takes up much of a large nook to the south, and nearby stands an oak desk with a matching armoire.

Alas...

Much of this furniture is ruined; spattered and stained with gore and deeply scarred by swordplay.
A skeletal body dressed in the ruins of a once-fine suit of studded leather lies in a red heap at the foot of the bed.
Five more bodies lie about the room, horribly deformed men and women who seem to have perished on a rapier's point.

Half Fiend Half Elf Druid 8| HP 94/94| AC 22 (25), FF 19 (22), Touch 14| Fo +10 Re +5 Wi +12; SR 20| Init +3| Percep +23, Darkvision 60', Low-Light Vision| Wildshape 3/3, Destructive Smite 9/9

Bryson contributes to the general mayhem in the room. He repeatedly bashes the desk and armoir with his still magicked club. Once they are thouroughly broken, he stops amid the debris and composes himself. "Where is it?" Bryson asks no one in particular.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter 5

"Damnit to Abbaddon, Bindlplotz! Watch where you aim your dubious contraption. I swear, that thing had to be engineered by goblins," Dgrim huffs.

...

Dgrim approaches the bodies lying on the floor and gives each a shove with his foot to see if they react.

Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7

In the private chamber beyond the maze, Dgrim prods the bodies.
None of them react.

Female Human Cleric 6 {HP: 37 /37 AC: 21}

I can't keep track of who is how injured. Is anyone particularly injured (maybe at less than half hit points)? Do I need to use some healing surges? I have 2 left.

Annie ran behind Bryson, thankful the swift strike Cayden Cailean gifted her with allowed her to keep up. She looked around the room for anything to do with Vanthus. The savage woman had mentioned his name, and he was the original reason they'd visited this cursed place.

"Bryson? What is it? What are you looking for? Are you looking for something about Vanthus too?" Annie was so relieved when Bryson took a couple of breaths and calmed down. "You've been scaring me, Bryson."

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Half Fiend Half Elf Druid 8| HP 94/94| AC 22 (25), FF 19 (22), Touch 14| Fo +10 Re +5 Wi +12; SR 20| Init +3| Percep +23, Darkvision 60', Low-Light Vision| Wildshape 3/3, Destructive Smite 9/9

"Ah not become them. Ah look for it. Ah find it. Ah make it stop." Seeing the others searching, Bryson searches too.

Perception 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 27

When you all look around, you find:

Treasure:

Left by the savage girl who attacked Bindplotz:
_Rapier, Masterwork
_Studded Leather Armor (enchanted)
_Cloak, Purple silk
_Clasp, Emerald
_Locket, Silver, contains tiny portrait of Vanthus Vanderboren.

In the personal chamber beyond the maze you discover:
_papers indicating that this was the personal quarters of the secret base commander, Post Captain and Crimson Fleet
veteran Kigante Valeros. A man known for Piracy far and wide and had a considerably bounty on his head. Unfortunately
for bounty hunters, his body has been stripped of all flesh as the savage pirates ate him alive; even his leather armor
was devoured in the frenzy.
_A ring (enchanted) still on the bloody finger.
_A darkwood buckler, still strapped to the bloody arm.
_A beautiful rapier, with a brass hilt in the shape of a griffon (enchanted); found under the bed where it had been kicked.
_In the remains of the shattered desk, three silver bars (maybe worth 30 crowns each).
_A bottle of very fancy vermillion ink.

Bryson:

Your hyper-aware senses smell a fresh sea breeze coming from the western alcove; when you go there, you find the cunningly disguised continuation of the passage.

Half Fiend Half Elf Druid 8| HP 94/94| AC 22 (25), FF 19 (22), Touch 14| Fo +10 Re +5 Wi +12; SR 20| Init +3| Percep +23, Darkvision 60', Low-Light Vision| Wildshape 3/3, Destructive Smite 9/9

The Shillelagh spell only lasts a few minutes. I presume that it has worn off by now.
Bryson goes into the hidden passage.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Bindlplotz will gingerly pull the items from the pool of acid...

Female Human Cleric 6 {HP: 37 /37 AC: 21}

Annie examined all the items as they were gathered up. The locket and its picture of Vanthus elicited extra interest.

Spellcraft checks for enchanted items:
Studded Leather Armor: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Ring: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Rapier: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

After doing what she could to determine the properties of the items, Annie help pack up everything, especially the papers, for their continued exploration of these cursed caverns.

Again, anyone obviously injured? Before we go forward Annie can spend another channel for 2d6 healing, but I don't want to waste it if we're looking okay.

Annie:

You can tell that the ring (still on the gruesome finger!) is a ring of Swimming, and that the rapier is probably enchanted to +1. You don't know about the others.

Halfway through exploring, you see Bryson dissapear into the western alcove.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter 5

Dgrim helps gather the items, then follows Bryson into the aclove.

Dgrim is only down 2 hp.

Female Human Cleric 6 {HP: 37 /37 AC: 21}

Looking back, it seems that Bindlplotz, at least, has taken 11 points of damage since last healing.

"That ring," Annie pointed, slightly squeamish about getting it off the finger, "will help one of us swim, and the rapier and armor are magical. It's good we rescued that crazy girl's stuff from the pool of acid she melted into. The locket is insteresting as...hey, where's Bryson? He's too hurt to run off alone!" Annie runs over to where she saw Bryson disappear.

Aye, updating bindl's HP on sheet

As you all come to the end of this passageway, you feel the fresh breeze on your face. It carries with it the sounds of violent combat, the unmistakable slobbering cries of rage and hunger from several savage pirates, and a woman's voice shouting profane threats and curses become audible.

You come out into another cavern, the floor sloping downward towards a large tidal pool. The waters seem to be surging from a submerged passageway leading to the southwest. Overhead, you see a narrow strip of sky through which light streams. A hammock strung between two stalagmites sways gently to the south, next to an overturned table and a broken chair.

Backed into the southern corner by a horde of savage pirates is a bold beauty with raven black hair and deeply tanned skin. She wears tight leather armor studded with fire opals and pearls and wields a curved rapier and dagger in a blinding display of swordplay. As she fights, she roars the most blistering of curses in the manner of experienced sailors. The acid remains of a dozen savage pirates litter the ground, making careless movement hazardous.

Heal DC12 or Perception DC16:

Despite her skill, you see she has been wounded repeatedly and seems to be growing weary.

When she spots you, she roars out; "Oi! Get in the fight or stay outta me way buckos. These things are lookin' to die, and I plan on obliging!"
