Spontaneous Casting

Rules Questions

Is spontaneous casting for a Cleric or Druid a standard action? I can't seem to find anything definitive in my dead tree version of the Core Rulebook on this one.

Page 113:

"Spontaneous Casting and Metamagic Feats: A cleric spontaneously casting a cure or inf lict spell, or a druid spontaneously casting a summon nature’s ally spell, can cast a metamagic version of it instead. Extra time is also required in this case."

Yes, but bereft of metamagic considerations does using the ability otherwise impose no additional casting time?

Casting times remain the same.

Sorry, I misunderstood the question; stuart haffenden is correct, spontaneous conversion of Cure/Inflict spells for Clerics and S.N.A. spells for Druids does not increase the casting time.

Thank you.

But what about spontaneous casting AND adding a metamagic feat?

See the second post from the top.

"A cleric spontaneously casting a cure or inflict spell, or a druid spontaneously casting a summon nature’s ally spell, can cast a metamagic version of it instead. Extra time is also required in this case."

Clerics and Druids work basically like Sorcerers and Bards when applying Metamagic feats to Spontaneous Casting.
