Wizard Abjurer: Protective Ward ability

Rules Questions

Sovereign Court

Protective Ward (Su): As a standard action, you can create a 10-foot-radius field of protective magic centered on you that lasts for a number of rounds equal to your Intelligence modifier. All allies in this area (including you) receive a +1 deflection bonus to their AC for 1 round.

So is the duration equal to your Intelligence modifier or is it 1 round?

Or something else?

The aura lasts for a number of rounds equal to your intelligence modifier. However if someone leaves the aura, it will last for them for a single round. Since you will by definition always be in the aura, you receive the benefit for your intelligence modifier.

So it is "something else" sounds like a good interpretaion of the rules.
