I can only judge from what the PRD says (it mentions calling and commanding elementals too), but I think it's only flavor text plus a reference to the 9th level domain spell Elemental Swarm, which each of the elemental domains has.

It's strange, highlighting the name of this topic on the main menu I was able to read the following preview:
"In each of the elemental domains (Air, Earth, Fire, and Water), the description of the domain states that the cleric can control elemental creatures..."
but the text has gone away (maybe eaten by the Post Monster ???) in the thread itself !

I think you found part of the original question. The rest of it was about not being able to find actual domain powers that backed up the flavor text (regarding calling and commanding elementals).
I am not the original poster. I posted to answer the question, and the original post disappeared while I was posting. All of a sudden the Paizo boards labeled me as the thread starter, which I'm not.
Ahhh... Okay. It is likely the original poster deleted the post as you answered, thus transfering you to the original.
