Two-handed weapons and smite evil

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

When using smite evil with a 2 handed weapon, does the extra damage based on level receive the +50% bonus that power attack, and the strength mod to damage do?

based on the raw no it doesn't. However I'd be inclined to adapt the smite evil damages to match those of the Power Attack of the same level, much more reasonable and less abusable.

Paladins wouldn't be looking to dual-wield, but instead they'd tend towards two handed (or at least 1 handed like longswords) weapons.

Infact, PA + smite would be pretty awesome with this set up.

Smite: +cha attack, +4 / 8 / 12 damage

PA: -4 attack, +4 / 8 / 12 damage

Assuming 18 Cha, using both translates to

Smite and PA: normal attack, +8/ 16/ 24 damage

According to the rules, no. I wouldn't change it either since Paladins are already tough customers for evil monsters.
However the rules seem to allow a dual weapon weilding Paladin to dual weapon smite the target of his Smite Evil power.
