Law Domain - Touch of Law

In BETA this ability states that it can be used after a die is rolled, to change the result.

The final release version does not say whether the 11 can be applied after a rolled result.

Usually Paizo is pretty good at mentioning whether it allows you to still roll a result or not, so I am confused as to whether this does.

Q: Can you still attempt a roll, knowing your worst case scenario is to take the 11?

The other confusing wording: "...allowing it to treat all attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws for 1 round as if the natural d20 roll resulted in an 11."

Does this mean that if I choose to be affected by it that all such rolls automatically become 11, without rolling? Or should this read "... allowing it to treat any of its attack rolls, ..." This way my character that has two attacks, can still roll for the first iterative attack, but take an 11 on the second iterative?

Q: Do all rolls in that round have to be taken as 11's, or can I pick and choose which ones?

Since usually, you can not apply any ability "after the fact" unless the description specifically mentions it, I am pretty confident that this ability follows the same principle.

So no, you can not roll first, then decide to use Touch of Law.

The second paragraph is quite clear, I think. You may roll or not, but all D20 rolls for the round are treated as if they came up as 11, so... well. Not much point in rolling.

I was trying to find some clarification on this "Touch of law" ability
--- it says on the target gets the effected for the round so if you use it on yourself as a standard action can you used it next round
--- if you use it on an ally and they get an AOO before their turn do they roll or use the 11
--- Does this cancel out Touch of Chaos

Sovereign Court

My reading would be that it can be applied after the roll. The text says "... as if the natural d20 roll resulted in an 11" using the past tense. It doesn't say "would result in an 11". Also, it says that the creature is "allowed" to apply it, not that they must.

You use it as you would a "Take 10"...except it's a "Take 11", and it applies to ALL rolls...you can't pick and choose. (It'd kinda defeat the point of the whole domain if you could.)

Souphin:

1. I use my characters "Touch of Luck" ability like that.
2. Pass. I'd rule that they could, otherwise you're getting into round micro-management. :)
3. No.

Note that this is just my (and my DM's) interpretation.

Shadow Lodge

An ability that lasts 1 round ends just before your next action, so like most of the Cleric abilities, doesn't really work on themselves except in corner cases.

Like other people said, you simply get an 11. The best real use of this ability is if you force it on others, (denying Crits for example), or making sure a mundane roll makes it.

I think the best real use of the ability is to allow a person to effectively 'take 10 (11)' even in a stressful situation.

You can't force it on others (touch attack), as it can only be used on a "willing creature", otherwise it might actually be useful. Compared to the other alignment domains it seems like a pretty useless ability, if you ask me.

The Diplomat:

You want to take 10 on a check but cant because you are in combat? Get touched by this. That one little fact makes it far from useless imo.
