Hi fair folks at Paizo,

a couple of days ago I added the Pathfinder RPG Line to my subsriptions, starting with the Bestiary (Preorder date stated as October).

Today my credit Card has been charged by you with an mount which is equivalent with the order number 1231738, although the Bestiary, which is next in line, will not ship before October.

I have checked my Order History as well as my subscriptions and compared them with my Credit Card invoice. The last shipment (shipped August 11th) was worth 60.21 $. This mount has already been charged to my card on the 17th of August.

My question: or what is the currently charged amount of "49.something"$ when there are no further shipments going my way before September?

Not an official source, but it may have just been an authorization to see if they could charge the credit card. These usually go away after a couple days. For the official story please stay tuned to Cos or Alison.

I just had the same line of reasoning. Your probably correct.

this seems reasonable, at least for first time subscriptions!

One the other hand, that card is valid for more than a year, which should be known to the staff since they charged all my orders to it for the last 18 month. Lets be candid about this: If the test shows that the card is valid and can be charged today, thee still will be gurantee that the same is true two month from now.

This "unexpected" test might just result in me getting into trouble with a German Retailer with whom I finally managed to secure one of the few (to few) AVAILABLE Pathfinder RPG Rules (which would help save me 40 bucks in shipping costs). Since the RPg is that scarce here in Germany, this "test" might just result in me having to wait till November or even December till I finally can lay my "greedy little paws" on that PFRPG Book which I so much lust for. Sure, If I could ensure that the amount available on that card would be higher, i would not have that problem. unfortunately that ain't so easy nowadays, with reduces in pay and threats to be laid off.

I Just hope that this test will return the charged amount soon, otherwise I might just start to cry.

...first tear drops....

Hell, Here I start already.

@ Paizo Staff: I understand the procedure, no bad feelings, but pleaaaase print more books with future "major" releases, to ensure that retailers and our favorite gaming stores receive more books, so that they can cover more than 20% (and thats a high estimate)of their own customers pre-orders.

Thanks for your outstanding customer service, the incorporation of our (the gamers) thougts and opinions, and simply for being who, and how you are.

...having a nervous breakdown, shedding more tears....hugging the shabby PDF print out that weights half a metric ton.....but loving it.

This was, in fact, an authorization for your subscription creation order. Unfortunately, whether or not a hold is placed on funds and the duration of the hold are both entirely up to your banking institution and not something we can control. For U.S. banks, pending transaction holds are generally released after 3-5 business days.

Therefore, you may need to contact your bank to be sure, but the hold should be released soon.

Thanks,
cos

Hi Cosmo,

Thanks for the fast reply, I appreciate Paizo's customer service level very much. (especially since you made through that misspelled drivel of mine .)) )

But back to my main topic:

I have just contacted my bank, as you suggested. Unfortunately they have given me an answer which contradicts your info. The bank people told me that the hold on the fund will be on the card until you guys cancel that charge. Once the charge has been cancelled by you, I am supposed to "see that within minutes". So I am left with contradicting information.

Please be ensured that I trust more in your answer than in theirs, 8 after all, I do work with a bank, thus, at least, having a "feel" for their (lets call it....... tactics.....) but I kindly do request that you guys do send them a confirmation that the hold on the funds is " canceled".

Again, my appreciation for the work that you guys at Paizo do, be it Customer Service, Design, Editing, Development, Editorial Staff, manager, or who ever helps in bringing such a great Game as PFRPG, AP, Modules, etc on the market, for us to buy and enjoy. Me, and I am sure, as well as the majority of the PF-Product Line-Customers, appreciate Yours and Alison's (as well as any other unnamed Customer Service Staff member who might remain unknown to the cross of us,) excellent work, and patience and your humor that you do and show to and for us.
