Hi all...
Way back in the late 1970's when I started playing AD&D 1.0, my Mom saw an article titled "That Damned Gnome" in some engineering magazine at work. It is an excellent article about roleplaying and D&D and was just great reading. I have been kicking myself for 25 years for losing the copy I had. Fruitless searches on the internet bring me here, to the home of gamers worldwide, hoping someone may have a copy. I would say it was printed after 1976 and before 1983.
If anyone knows of a copy, or a good place to search engineering magazine back issues, please let me know. Thanks,
Steve

That's an interesting story - an aviation magazine would probably be last place I would have expected to find a D&D article. I guess you've searched the online site but I think it only has recent articles.
Could you recall the name of the author? If he is still around he may have a copy. Also have you tried contacting the publisher of Aviation Week to see if they can help you track down the author or the article? I would imagine an article like that would be unusual enough that people involved with the magazine would remember.

Tried trove.nla.gov.au and am still looking.
Found a reference to taylorsville canyon gnomes eating lost travellers.

Thanks guys. Long time since I checked in here. I have sent the Library of Congress a request for info on the article, we'll see what they say. No idea on the author. Good idea on the publisher, i will look that up.
If I find a copy, I will forward it to you guys.
Thanks again for your suggestions.
