Action for Necromancy Wizard's Life Sight

Is Life Sight a free action to activate? Swift maybe? Also, is it continuous or non-continuous?

Change Shape, Elemental Wall, and Aura of Despair also don't mention what's required to activate them.

I am wondering the same thing about the action needed to activate this power.

Anyone have an idea about this one yet?

I think the rulebook mentioned something about supernatural abilities being a standard action if activation is required. Generally they don't provoke AOO's though.

When in doubt, consult the manual aka Pathfinder PRD.

From Wizard, Necromancy:

Quote:
Life Sight (Su): At 8th level, you gain blindsight to a range of 10 feet for a number of rounds per day equal to your wizard level. This ability only allows you to detect living creatures and undead creatures. This sight also tells you whether a creature is living or undead. Constructs and other creatures that are neither living nor undead cannot be seen with this ability. The range of this ability increases by 10 feet at 12th level, and by an additional 10 feet for every four levels beyond 12th. These rounds do not need to be consecutive.

Supernatual ability - no attack of opportunity (check the table found nearby).

Supernatural ability, Combat section:

Quote:
Supernatural Abilities (Su): Using a supernatural ability is usually a standard action (unless defined otherwise by the ability's description). Its use cannot be disrupted, does not require concentration, and does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Ruemere

You are correct! Thanks for pointing this out. Here are the rules for anyone who needs them:

Quote:

This ability only allows you to detect living creatures and undead creatures. This sight also tells you whether a creature is living or undead. Non-continuous (or continuous)... Rounds per day generelly means that they do not have to be consequetive. So you can't take the rounds at any time.

Action: The generel rule is a standard action, if nothing is specified. But I personally would not rule that, in this case, as it would make the ability a lot less useful. A Free action seems the most appropriate to me.
