Pathfinder RPG Impressions, and our PFRPG release "party"

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I've had a few things to say about a few elements of the game early on, but I've said my peace on those, so I'm setting all of that aside.

Seeing my gaming group getting their PFRPG book was quite awe inspiring. Even with some of the misgivings some of us had, there was an undeniable excitement that was pervading the game store last night.

And this was even before we realized that the reference site was up and running.

Paizo did an amazing job of pulling all of this together, even if yesterday was a bit up or down for the website and the downloads. This was way more than I was expecting. In fact, it took me a while to even figure out where to start discussing all of this.

So, in conclusion, I thought I'd share the commemorative event that my gaming group initiated to celebrate the release. One of our players suggested a dramatic reading of the "Example of Play" from the beginning of the book.

As the proud performer of "Harsk's Player" I must say, its hard to keep a Scottish accent from turning into an Austrian accent as one gets more emphatic . . .
