DM Looking for Mood Music For Pathfinder 25 CotT Bastards of Erebus (Suggestions)

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I'm going to be be starting a Council of Thieves campaign shortly. My players are easily distracted, and I've found that music helps, but the music itself can't be too distracting either.

Anyway I'm looking for different kinds of music for the different sections of the adventure, suggestions would be appreciated. Those of you who don't want even a little of the adventure spoiled for you probably shouldn't read below

Spoiler:
For the Sewers I'd like something creepy and eerie, but fast paced, since they're supposed to be running away.

I'm not certain what I want for the carriage ambush.

For attacking the Bastards I want something infernal sounding, dark and violent.

Also would like some good music to have random fights to that would suit the them of the campaign.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

For the Sewers:
I would try two tracks from Peter Gabriels Soundtrack for BIRDY.

Track 7: Birdy's Flight (great for chasing scenes, thouhg a bit short)
Track 9: The Heat (I once used it for a ritual where a demon was called, which should fit well in Cheliax).

Other stuff I can suggest:
2 albums from "Tangerine Dream" called "zeit", and the other "Phaedra".
Those two are very awesome!

The album "Spiritual Archives" from Delerium

The album "Heresy" from Lustmord (so dark and one of the best I ever used in RPGs.

More to come, if I have time!
Hopefully some of those might help you out!

Thanks a lot, yeah, I'm looking into them, they sound good so far.

Check out Lesiem, in particular their 2002 CD _Mystic Spirit Voices_. Some of their stuff is pretty upbeat, but there are some tracks that are hauntingly disturbing.

(If you go to their site , about half-way down the page is free download of the mp3 for the ten minute remix of their song "Fundamentum". It might not be the best thing for a creepy sewer, but for an epic Good v. Evil battle you'll never find better.)

I've been reading the Cheliax book, getting ready to run this new campaign. The book describes the type of music currently popular in the Empire. Reading the description, the first thing that popped into my mind was the Kronos Quartet. It is a string group whose music can come across very creepy/violent, but acoustic so it wouldn't be too out of place.

Haven't gotten far enough into the Council of Thieves book yet to say where it would best go though..

I've always felt The Conan the Barbarian soundtrack was pretty ideal. The music was made for different scenes in the movie. Songs for thieving in cult temples, bazaar music .. and then for the epic showdown(beatdown) ... "Anvil of Crom" DUM DUM DA DUM DA DUM DUM DUM DUM ... love that song

Spoiler:
There is always Dual of the fates from Star Wars Episode 1 for the Bastards fight

Thanks for this, IconoclasticScream.

The Lord of the Rings soundtracks are very good for many moods. Dual of the Fates from Star Wars is indeed an excellent battle music!

Also look for:
Conan(already suggested).
Peter Gabriel soundtrack for The Last Temptation of Christ (Passion) has a good exotic feel.
Van Helsing's soundtrack (only good part of that awful movie lol).
Sleepy Hollow's soundtrack.

There are also many video game soundtracks out there that are great (i'm looking at you Jade Empire!) for all sort of moods and some anime soundtracks as well(Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away).

Good hunting!

Scarab Sages

I'm partial to the soundtracks from Constantine, the remake of The Fog, and Riven. King Kong and The Mummy are pretty good, too. You might also check out The 13th Warrior and the God of War II soundtrack for some good combat music.

Also, second on Passion (Last Temptation of Christ); that's a great soundtrack.

Still haven't read CoT myself, but if the mood and setting is at least a bit similar to that of CotCT (Gaedren's part to be precise), the OST from City of the Lost Children by Angelo Baladalamenti is something you should seriously consider.

I would have said Passion for LoF. Wish I still had my copy.

Dark Sanctuary is good for mournful moods or encounters needing a somewhat Gothic mystic/spiritual undertone.

SomaFM's DOOMED stream is cool free Net streaming for dark encounters or sometimes battles, etc but you cannot control what is played, of course. They list recently played and the current song there, so check it out! :)

Hey anyone got anything good for the streets of zobeck?
