I'm wondering if there is a template (or something) that allows you to combine two races of that gives a PC the shapechange ability, like the Changeling.
Do you know of one? or both?T.I.A.
In Savage Species, there was info on a magic ritual to allow a PC/NPC to change species. The Changeling of Eberron was a +0 LA, so basically it'd go something like:
- PCs find archmage/magical creature with the knowledge of the ritual. PCs do necessary legwork, reagent gathering, securing compensation for the archmage, yada-yada-yada...
- Assuming PC is a +0 LA race, strip out all the racial qualities that make him his current race (+ & -'s o attributes, human bonus feat, elven low-light, gnome/halfling size modifiers, etc... basically everything the PC gets when his base race is chosen, but before 1st level of any class is added.)
- Now add in all Changeling racial qualities.
- PC pays smallish XP cost.
That's basically it (from memory, book currently in storage, sorry).
