My players are about to experience the Raid on Sandpoint.
Anyone here who already DMed thru this? Any hints or ideas?
I am a bit afraid this will be a fair encounter...
I'm nowhere near this yet, but I plan on using the Sandpoint raid timeline linked in the Community Created Stuff thread. That should make the whole thing significantly easier to run :)

I used initiative cards with the end of turn card having the round by round monster appearances. Understand the scale of Sandpoint really well, make a ruler that has the distances on it and look at how fast the monsters mover through and over the village. Keep in mind the ultimate goal of the raid and have the giants work toward that end. The PCs should be able to stop the plan but keep trying to out think them. Stone giants are not a bunch of mental push overs.

I made an excel sheet with a column for each named enemy or group of enemies, and the rounds on the lines. So on a given round, I could see who was where.
Also, I worked out ahead of time which/how many villagers would get killed/captured by whom on what round at each location (assuming of course the PC's didn't prevent this happening).
And if I may do some advertisement for my own journal, you can see how things happened in my campaign at this link.
Have fun running the raid!
