Scribe Scroll time required

3.5/d20/OGL

Can you scribe two scrolls in a day or does it take one day to scribe a 1st lvl scroll or one day to scribe a fifth lvl scroll.

Could you scribe 2 3rd lvl spells? Each would be 350gp worth (I think).

I want to say you can only scribe one scroll a day. And it takes a day for each 1000 gp worth of value. Though you can scribe more than one spell on a scroll.

The Exchange

In the PFRPG a scroll takes 2 hours if it's base price is 250pg or less, or 1 day for every 1000gp.

But in the standard 3.5 RAW, any scroll takes 1 day/1000gp, even if it only costs 12g 5s

Thanks all - I had forgotten about the multiple spells on a scroll -doh!

wait- it works that way? I never even thought of the possibility that it all actually counts as one scroll when scribing. Although you still have to have enough spell slots to scribe those.

This actually opens up a lot more options.......

EDIT: by the way, can anyone find the upward limit of spells that can be stored on a scroll (if there is one) because I can't

There doesn't appear to be any limit to the number of spells on a Pathfinder scroll, but it does mention that for each additional spell (pg 358) that it is a foot longer and that scrolls with more than 3 spells are typically fitted with reinforcing rod.

In 3.5 edition the DMG has Major Scrolls listed as 1d6 spells, which is the closest I can find to a limit.

I wonder if could devise a kind of file-o-fax thingy for getting to the spell you want really quickly. It'd be like toilet paper!

I believe the Magic Item Compendium has and item like that... Infinite Scrollcase or something... basically like a Handy Haversack for scrolls.

Spellbook of Infinite spells -- It is an artifact however.
