Interesting. I hadn't realized before that 4E was their third attempt at creating a new edition of the game. I'd love to read a more in depth version of how that all played out sometime though I suspect I'll have to wait for 5th edition before there will be any possibility that the NDAs covering the development of 4E are lifted. Come to think of it I'd love to read a significant sized article with lots of background covering the development of 3rd edition too.

Wow, tough crowd. I thought the discussion of his novels and how he started down the path as "the Psionics guy" was good, as was the nod to 2E's Illithiad.
I personally didn't like the Illithiad. But that's matter of taste.
BUT i really liked the former work of Bruce Cordell, of course mainly about psionics.
As i said i have/had quite a lot of respect for him.
Sadly, i am disappointed to hear what he says, the way he follows the directives of his employers. Oh, of course i understand that it's his job. But that's sad.
I also read the Spellplague first book. I honestly liked it.
I like the characters, the monk, the warlock and the kuo-toa girl.
Yes, i am waiting for the continuation of this series.
I must also say that although i don't like the new Forgotten Realms, i still want to be informed about what's going on.
Because if i ever run a game on Toril, i want to be able to have enough knowledge at my disposal, mainly on fluff, so i can keep what i want and discard what i don't like.
