I am about to run this AP, and my group wants to use the PFRPG beta rules. I've read where some of you are doing this, and I was wondering if LoF requires much conversion or will it run ok as is with the characters on the new ruleset.
I've been running it pretty much as-is with PF Beta characters doing minor changes on-the-fly. As it is, I've got a party of 3 players, and they've been doing pretty well for them with the slight power boost PF Beta gives them.
If you're not entirely familiar with CMB, I would suggest taking a close look at it and perhaps converting monsters' CMB modifiers before you run the game.
If you want to really challenge your players, you can re-stat enemies with class levels (like Kardswann) to take advantage of the upgraded Beta classes. You don't really need to, though. Unless your players are real sticklers for this kind of thing, they won't notice. Mine certainly haven't.
Remember to take a look as spells you're planning on casting, as you want to use the Beta version so that it's fair for the PC casters. Also, don't forget that some of the magic items have changed. I spent a minute explaining to a player how he never found a periapt of Wisdom +2, and that he had instead found a headband of infinite wisdom +2.
Good luck! It's a great AP, and a great system to run it with!
